The Washington Youth Tour is a fantastic experience we offer local youth each year. Southern Rivers Energy send two students to Washington D.C. for an unforgettable week. This year’s trip is June 15-22, and students must be 16 or older by June 1.

Be About ENGAGEMENT! Promise Place will be holding a Clothing Drive from February 1st to the 18th to raise engagement efforts with the youth. Civic organizations and student groups are encouraged to donate any new or gently used clothes to benefit individuals in our shelter. These items can be dropped off at our 7th Annual Teen Summit at UGA Griffin- Stuckey Auditorium. It was an honor to have a small part in the Pike Works Job Fair tonight! Emily Johnson and Janna Brannon from Pike County Schools did an amazing job with this event. It was great to see many of our Chamber members join us as we brought employers and prospective employees together in one place. It was an awesome night!!!

Our Economic Summit this afternoon was so informative! We enjoyed lunch together and an economic forecast from the amazing Dr. Roger Tutterow. Information regarding access to the Griffin Campus:
• Varsity Road has limited accessibility.
• Students may enter the Griffin Campus from North Expressway via Water Works Drive and next to Building 100 (beside the SCTC sign) OR via Spalding Drive (next to Home Depot)
• The Education and Training Complex at Ellis Crossing (Film Building and Economic Development), 800 Academic Building, and all Mobile Units are CLOSED. Access to these buildings is restricted.
• Griffin Campus Parking will be available in the Medical Building lot and in the front and side of the Dundee Education Technology Center
• There will be NO ACCESS to the 800 Academic Building lot as well as other lower lots
• Please note that there will be police presence to offer assistance
