Hello Everyone! ❤️

First and foremost, thank you. Your love, encouragement, donations, volunteer hours, and support have carried us through some of the most difficult moments of this journey. We are incredibly grateful for each and every one of you.

As we navigate this transition, we want to remind everyone that we are not finished yet. We still have cats in our care who depend on us every day for food, shelter, medical treatment, and love. While we've made tremendous progress, we continue to face ongoing expenses including rent, utilities, and veterinary bills.

Over the past several weeks, we have taken on some very large veterinary expenses while also offering free adoptions to help more animals find loving homes. While we wouldn't change those decisions, they have left us in a difficult financial position, and we need your help now more than ever.

Monetary donations are truly the backbone of our rescue. They allow us to pay for emergency medical care, provide daily care for the animals currently depending on us, and create opportunities to save even more lives in the future. Whether it's helping English Bulldogs in need, supporting our remaining shelter cats, or developing a future TNR program to reduce the feral cat population in Yuma, none of it is possible without community support.

If you are able, please consider making a donation today. Even $1 makes a difference when we all come together.

Thank you for standing beside us during this challenging season. Financially, emotionally, and physically, it has been a difficult month, but your kindness reminds us why we keep going. Together, we can finish strong and continue making a difference for the animals who need us most.

🐾 With gratitude,
Homeward Bound Animal Rescue

It looks like Amy has reached her goal to keep her cats! Wow yuma I am so impressed by your love and generosity for people during hard times! I'm so thankful her animals will remain safe with her!

GOAL IS NOW REACHED!!!! Woo hoo!!!!! Thank you Yuma!!!!

Thank you to everyone who has donated! So far we've raised around $250...... Let's go Yuma! Again if she can get them cleared as emotional support pets then you can receive a refund or consider it a donation to the rescue.

🚨 YUMA, WE DESPERATELY NEED YOUR HELP 🚨

Today, we're asking our community to come together for someone who truly needs us.

Amy is facing an impossible situation. Her landlord recently discovered that she has cats and has given her a choice: pay a $725 pet deposit or the cats will have to leave.

These aren't just "pets" to Amy and her family.

Amy lovingly bottle-fed these kittens from the time they were tiny babies. She stayed up through sleepless nights feeding them every few hours, keeping them warm, and fighting to help them survive. She has poured her heart into raising them, and they have become cherished members of her family.

Making matters even more difficult, Amy's son has autism and has formed an incredibly special bond with these cats. They are his comfort, his companions, and a source of stability in his daily life. Losing them would be absolutely heartbreaking for him.

We know times are hard for everyone, but if just a few people can spare a few dollars, we can help keep this family together and prevent these beloved cats from ending up in a shelter.

Every dollar helps. Every share matters.

Let's show Amy and her son what the Yuma community is all about. Let's rally around them during this difficult time and help them raise the $725 needed to keep their family together.

If you can donate or would like more information, please reach out. Even if you can't give financially, sharing this post could help it reach someone who can.

❤️ Together, we can make sure these cats stay exactly where they belong — at home with the family that loves them. :::

I hope Yuma will come together for Amy. Sometimes a community can change a family's future with just a few dollars and a lot of compassion.
❤️

💙 FOSTER OR ADOPTER NEEDED 💙

Meet this handsome 7-year-old English Bulldog! 🐾

This sweet boy has been patiently waiting at the shelter since April and is more than ready to find a loving home of his own. We would love to find him a forever family, but we’re also seeking a foster or foster-to-adopt home to help him leave the shelter environment and start enjoying the comfort and love he deserves.

English Bulldogs are known for their loyal, affectionate personalities, and this guy is ready to share his heart with someone special.

If you are interested in fostering, fostering-to-adopt, or adopting, please email Molly at:

Please share this post to help us find this deserving boy the home he’s been waiting for! ❤️🐶

EUTHANASIA — LET'S HAVE AN HONEST CONVERSATION

I would like to take a moment to dispell some rumors that are being spread. Apparently some people think "we are just euthanizing all the cats in our care" and that we "don't care anymore" and that couldn't be further from the truth. Unless you are volunteering or you've called and spoken to us directly please don't lie to the public. It simply does the animals no good and causes us to look focus..... Which is finding these animals homes.

Our goal has always been, and continues to be, finding safe, loving homes or rescue placements for every cat in our care. That mission will never change.

However, it is important to be transparent about the realities of animal rescue. Euthanasia is a real and sometimes unavoidable consideration in animal welfare, and avoiding the conversation does not change that fact.

The only reason euthanasia is even being discussed at this time is because we are closing our physical shelter location. Once our brick-and-mortar facility closes, we will no longer have a place to house many of the cats and kittens currently in our care. This is an incredibly difficult reality that we are facing, and one that weighs heavily on us every day.

Throughout this journey, I have shared the successes, struggles, heartbreaks, and victories of rescue work because I believe our supporters deserve honesty. Those who have followed Homeward Bound know the level of commitment we put into every animal that comes through our doors. We invest countless hours, resources, and emotional energy into giving each cat every possible chance at a happy and healthy future.

I want to be very clear: euthanasia is never viewed as a convenient solution or an easy way out. It is a decision that would only be considered after every reasonable option has been exhausted. Before reaching that point, we pursue medical treatment, foster placement, adoption opportunities, rescue partnerships, behavioral support, and every other avenue available to us.

We are actively working alongside Humane Society of Yuma to find possible rescue placements. We are also working on our end to find adopters, fosters, rescue partners, and any other solutions that will allow these cats to remain safe and cared for. We are asking our community to step up now, because the outcome for these animals depends on the support they receive during this transition.

When difficult decisions arise, they are made with careful consideration, compassion, and the animal's best interests at heart. Our responsibility is not only to save lives whenever possible, but also to prevent unnecessary suffering.

We remain committed to fighting for every animal in our care and will continue doing everything within our power to give them the chance they deserve. But we cannot do it alone. If you have ever considered fostering, adopting, networking, or helping a rescue animal in need, now is the time.
