Big, BIG news for York County today! $15 Million awarded to the Codorus Greenway project in Downtown York, PA, led by YCEA and partners!

“This award is a transformative investment in the Codorus Greenway, the largest green infrastructure project in York County's history. Through this award, we will return the waterfront to its natural park-like environs, providing public access through beautification of the city's primary natural resource,” said Kevin Schreiber, CEO of the York County Economic Alliance. These funds will also provide stormwater and sediment reduction supporting water quality goals for the Chesapeake Bay Watershed and ultimately propel environmental and economic justice, multiple modes of pedestrian transportation, recreation, and an historic waterfront transformation that will have an exponential return on investment for our community and region.”

Thank you to U.S. Senator Bob Casey & Senator John Fetterman and their dedicated teams for advocating alongside us for three years to make this hyper-competitive grant a reality for York County. This brings our total raised to $42 million, and with Phase 1 permit review underway.

We had the pleasure of working with CGA Architects, Meeder Development, and Meeder Realty to re-imagine the beautiful space at the Christian Street Court. A well positioned mixed-use neighborhood of businesses in the downtown investment district right next to Central Market on the zeroth block of Queen. This is a perfect space for a 30-50+ employee company in a downtown urban business hub in Lancaster, PA.
