Rescuing Misty

Misty got a ribbon last Saturday at the ECHO event! She had some trouble with a few of the Hazards but there was a lot and it was quite overwhelming. Plus it was pouring rain and we were both soaked. All said, I'm glad we gave it a try.

An ECHO (Equine Cones Hazards Obstacles) event is happening at our barn this Saturday and Misty is entered! Hoping she's does great 😃 and gets a ribbon

Misty carried me for the first time today! I'm very proud of her, she's been doing so well. Just a few laps around the riding ring because it was very hot and the greenheads were biting her. But every good experience is a step forward!

Misty had a great day today! We did some long line driving with her and then a wonderful lady at the barn got on her and rode her. She did fantastic 👏🏼 🎉

Here's a side by side of Misty today on the right and back in September when I first saw her on the left. She has gained about 100lbs. Look at the difference in the way she stands and how dark her eye looked before.

Beautiful Misty has started some long line work. Keeping it short and using a Dr Cooks bitless bridle. She's a good girl 💕

Misty had bodywork yesterday with Free Motion Animal Massage, LLC . This is taping to help her back muscles which have atrophied from years in a harness with her head held up by a check rein.

Misty had an appt with the horse dentist. She found 2 wolf teeth that had to be pulled! A 14 y/o horse with 2 wolf teeth means she most likely had never had her teeth done. Wolf teeth can be very sensitive and cause discomfort with a bit in their mouth. Misty was very brave and did better than I expected for her tooth work. She should be feeling and eating a lot better in a couple days.
