Reminder of the mandatory meeting regarding strength training and recovery tomorrow August 26th at 6:00 in the PAC.

If you are planning on playing baseball this season or any other sport at WDHS this 26-27 school year please be in attendance with a guardian for this mandatory meeting regarding strength training and recovery.

And our last awards go to our returners.

Eli Rupnow was awarded Honorable Mention All-District for an outfielder and despite the injury, Nolan Schmitz was awarded Honorable Mention All-District Utility player for his impressive season.

Blake Weaver was also awarded 2nd team All Southwest District for his outstanding season this year!

Blake batted .404 with 2 home runs and led the Chiefs in RBI’s with 34. Blake had huge hits all season including a RBI double in the first inning of our Sectional Semi-Final win over Aquinas. Well deserved Blake!

Over the week, Carter Syverson was recognized with 2nd team Southwest District pitcher. He was also voted the Southwest District Division 2 player of the year.

Carter this season batted .429 and was also 11-2 on the mound for the Chiefs.

MORE AWARDS TO ANNOUNCE!!

Over the week, the Wisconsin Baseball Coaches Association honored Cooper Whitehurst with 1st team All Southwest District as well as Honorable Mention All-State for the catcher position. Only SEVEN catchers are awarded All-State for all divisions making Cooper one of the seven best catchers in the state in the eyes of the coaches association.

Henry Grove was also awarded 1st team All Southwest District and Honorable Mention All State for infield making him one of the 30th best infielders in the entire state according to the coaches association.

This is the first all state selection for a Wisconsin Dells baseball player since 2022, last done by Will Michalsky.

We may not agree with just honorable mention but we need to recognize the lefty Curtis Griefenhagen for his season and his career.

Every time we gave this young man the ball in his 4 years he gave us a chance to win. Curtis saved some of his best work in his last few games going 5.1 innings 4 hits 1 run and the win against La Crosse Logan and 2.1 innings 4 hits 3 runs and exactly what we needed him to do against La Crosse Aquinas. Thank you for an exceptional career Curtis.

What a debut season! Eli was welcomed to varsity baseball with a 2nd team All-Conference season.

Eli batted .333 in conference play with 10 runs batted in. Eli also had a huge post season collecting 5 hits in 11 at-bats. Big things ahead!
