This Newport home was design to be a vacation home for the a young family. We wanted to modernize the plan by opening up and rearranging the first floor to maximize the entertaining spaces. We removed the wall between the kitchen and the dining room to create an open plan space. We also enlarged the doorway from the foyer to the living room to improve the circulation and make the first floor feel larger. The goal of the 2nd & 3rd floor was to maximize the number bedrooms and sleeping areas. We combined 2 small bedrooms into one large bunk room with custom built in bunks. We also created a master suite on the 3rd floor with a luxurious master bathroom. The goal of the design was to make a light and colorful home inspired by the ocean.

These are pictures of a renovation project in Newport, Rhode Island before the project began. As you can see the house had not been updated for some time. The kitchens and bathrooms are in need of some much needed love. There is also a 3rd floor walk up attic that is unfinished and ready for ideas.

The D Street Loft project was a renovation of an existing space. The existing condominium was a 1200 square foot loft space with 16 foot high ceilings and 3 large and impressive windows. The clients goal was to a create an open plan modern loft that maximized space and was warm and comforting. We used natural materials with rich colors and combined them with a Delano feel to create an impressive space. We added a 600 square foot mezzanine level encompassing the master suite. A 10 foot by 7 foot window looks out of the master bedroom down into the living and dining room. First floor flows nicely from room to room in an open plan style and the natural sunlight is maximized at the clients request.
