Attention rising 6th-8th graders!!
We still have seats available in next week’s camp, Collage & Crochet!
Students will get a double-dose of new techniques: experimenting with layering, pattern, and composition to create bold, textured collages AND learning a single crochet stitch to create small amigurumi animals and decorative motifs! This combination of classes will emphasize sustainability, thoughtful making, and the value of art created by hand. Priceless!

ARTSPACE presents -flight- the sky, practicing us. This upcoming gallery exhibit pulls the audience’s eye to the sky, to flocks of birds, to the murmur of whispers in the air, to envelop us in togetherness and raise questions about our individuality in the face of nature.
-flight- opens next Friday, June 26, with a free opening reception from 6-8pm at ARTSPACE. All ages are welcome!
Exhibiting artists include: Lindsey Bernier, Elan Blitch, Heather Carter, Sam Elkins, Jules Buck Jones, and Raylee Schobel.

A collection of starlings that swoops and swirls into different shapes in the air is called a “murmuration,” named after the sound the flapping of their wings makes as they are in flight. Artist Heather Carter is hanging Murmuration, an installation of 300 wood veneer birds, laminated rizo prints, and over 1,000 feet of untwined cat5 network cables. When finished, Heather’s installation will spread across the ceiling, mimicking the sweeping movement of a murmuration.
-flight- the sky, practicing us, our upcoming gallery exhibition at ARTSPACE, looks to the sky to see what birds can tell us about ourselves and the world. Patterns in movement, synchronized yet spontaneous, can represent our own sense of belonging amidst the chaos.
Join us for an opening reception of -flight- on June 26 from 6-8 p.m. at ARTSPACE in Wimberley. This event is FREE and open to the public. All ages are encouraged to attend!

From fantastical collage to spoken word poetry, ARTSPACE was immersed in artistic expression last weekend. Thank you to the open mic performers, art crawlers, workshoppers, and generally awesome people who stopped by the gallery and turned it into a true art space!

Don’t miss this final weekend!
During a semester-long internship, ten artist-student pairs created their final pieces, all displayed in a contemporary gallery show at ARTSPACE. Experience a whimsical backdrop, fantastical ceramics, intricate jewelry, thoughtful photographs, and striking paintings and collage, along with many other stunning pieces, in this final weekend of SIDExSIDE: projectMENTOR.
