Often, when it comes to the realm of faith, we hear things that we cannot see yet.
When a word of God comes forth into your life, you will not immediately see a change in your situation.
It will first produce a change within you.

Thanks for the invite

We must love one another as God loves each one of us. To be able to love, we need a clean heart.

Sometimes “I trust You” is all that we can say. Sometimes what we are going through makes no sense and we cannot see how it will end, if ever. But God asks us to just trust Him and this takes faith. We are choosing to take the only life we have and say, "Here, God, I know You gave me this life so I am giving it back, trusting that You have a plan for me. You know best and I trust You." All I know, based on my relationship with the Lord, is that I can trust Him. He has brought me through before and He will do it again. So today, do the same. Choose to trust God with your life. He created you and has a plan for your life. Trust Him.

Let me encourage today to take a break from your full-time job of worrying and fretting over things you cant control in the first place.
God has it all under control!
If God is for you, who can be against you?(Romans 8:31).
In the middle of the raging tide, "He can walk on water."
(Matthew 14:26)
In your greatest day of trouble, "He is still the Prince of Peace."(Isaiah 9:6) When you leave your problems in Gods hands, His peace will surround you like air. So let your heart rejoice in Christ your Savior.

I think about how many times God waited on us.
He waited when we were off course.
He waited when we had a bad attitude. He waited when we failed, when we were addicted, compromising.
He could have said, “That’s it; I’m done with you.”
But He waited.
He showed us mercy.
He picked us up when we fell.
He kept the addiction from taking our life;
He protected us when we chose the wrong friends;
He stopped the accident that could have taken us out. He waited when we didn’t believe in Him; He waited when were bitter because He didn’t answer our prayer;
He waited when we ignored Him. Sometimes you need to look back and say, “Lord, I want to thank You for waiting on me. Thank You for giving me another chance, thank You for cleaning up the mess I made,
thank You for covering me when I didn’t deserve it.”

Do you ever feel like the world is crashing down around you? Like, if one more thing goes wrong you will collapse under the weight of it all?
If that is where you are today, God wants to remind you that you're supposed to look to Him when you are weary.
It doesn't matter what it is, Jesus calls us to come to Him when we are weary and burdened. (Matthew 11:28).
As followers we shouldn't wait until it feels like we have the time, we need to make the time.
Let me encourage you like I do myself daily: take some to pray, or open the Bible and read His Word, listen to some worship music and as soon as you turn to Christ, you will feel so much better. You see, when we take that time to come to Him,
He gives us rest.
He lifts the weight off of our shoulders, and reminds us that it really is in His hands and that we need to trust Him. That doesn't mean that everything will be downhill from there, it just reminds us that no matter how many bad things happen,
He will never leave us or forsake us (Deuteronomy 31:8).

Is Jesus Coming to Your House?

The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
John 1:14

A story is told about a group of animals that were living together in a stable. There were all kinds of animals: mice, sheep, some chickens, some cows, a donkey, a horse, and even a rat. They lived together as a family, and their stable was their home.

Then one day a little mouse heard a rumor. He heard that someone was coming to their house. In his excitement he jumped on top of the horse and shouted, “Someone is coming to our house.” And then he whispered, as if it were a secret, “Joseph and Mary are coming to our house, and Mary is going to have a baby.”

That story prompts me to ask, Is Jesus coming to your house? As you are about to celebrate the birth of Jesus, ask yourself this question. As we have our parties and exchange gifts, do we pay attention to what we are celebrating? Will the birth of Jesus be at the center of our celebrations?
On the first Christmas, the Lord Jesus “moved into the neighborhood” (John 1:14, The Message).

That’s Christmas in a nutshell: the Lord Jesus has come into our world and into our lives.
Will we invite him into our hearts? That’s the important question each of us must answer.

Lord Jesus, help us to concentrate on what Christmas is all about. Help us to worship you, our Savior, and help us to make room for you in our lives. Amen.

Lord, we come to you today with a thankful heart as this is the day that you have made,
so we will rejoice and be glad in it. With gratitude,
we thank you for preserving our lives for one more day. And Lord With complete gratitude, we thank you for your ultimate gift of love for us, in the form of your son and the sacrifice of his life on our behalf. Because of this overwhelming gift that we often cannot comprehend, we humbly submit this day to you.
Lord, teach us your ways that we may rely on your faithfulness.
Teach us to number our days and to use our time wisely. Lord, we don’t know what this day holds, but we know that you hold this day.
It was You that laid the foundations of the earth and therefore understand every part of it.
So, throughout this day, may we stay keenly aware of your presence in everything we do –May our lives be a living example and may others see Christ in us.
There are many that are hurting in this world – may we be a beacon of light to someone today.
May our words be seasoned with salt and minister grace to all that hear.
May our actions be aligned with your word.
And Lord we pray for your hand of protection be upon us throughout this day; protect us from harm and evil;
go before us, to the left and right of us, and behind us.
Lord order our steps so that we walk worthy of your calling throughout this day. That we may be attuned to your promptings – whether it shows up as a gentle tug or a strong conviction.
If we get overwhelmed, confused,
unsure, and restless, help us run to your love and your word. May your word come alive to us so that it is a living guide in every situation.
Help us, Lord, to remember the promises of your word and bring the right passage to our remembrance for the situation.
We acknowledge that Your Word is indeed a light unto our feet and a light unto our path.
And Lord remove any fear and anxiety that may come creeping in.
As believers, we declare your word over our lives that you have not given us a spirit of fear, but of love, power, and a sound mind.
So help us to turn all of our anxious thoughts and nerve-wracking situations over to you Jesus; to truly do that and trust that you are working all things together for our good because you love us; that you are working in ways that we cannot comprehend because your ways supersede ours.
And that in this work, you are molding us continually more into the image of Christ and masterpieces fit for your use.
You are increasing our faith and our capacity to love.
So we thank you again for this blessed day and give you all the glory and all the honor that you deserve.
In Jesus' mighty name we pray. Amen!

"Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life." Proverbs 4:23

We need to tend to our heart and be the gatekeeper of it… being careful what attitudes we nurse, what thoughts we allow to make paths in our mind, what images and words we allow media entertainment to deposit there. The essence of our life springs from our heart. When our heart is at peace, peace springs from within us. When our heart is flooded with anxiety, anger, or edginess that is what will spring forth. Our entire life is affected by the wellspring of our heart. As believers, we have been instructed to walk by faith and not by sight but the trouble comes in when what God said is not lining up with what is going on in our present circumstances. When challenges arise we must incline our hearts to focus more on God’s commands. Remember, His word provides us hope, encouragement, and the strength to keep moving. The more we attend to what is going on around us, we fill our hearts with fear and uncertainties. But as Proverbs 4:23 reminds us to "Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life." What we focus on will grow. I don’t know about you, but if I have a choice in what grows or becomes dominant in my life I would prefer it be the Word of God.

Today choose to guard your heart by turning your focus to the Lord and rejoicing in all He is us. Today we choose to be aware of His constant presence with us and to allow His presence to impact our responses with a gentleness of spirit. Today choose to see your worries as a call to prayer and to present each one to Him. Today choose to live thankfully knowing He is able to handle all that concerns you today. Today, as we choose to guard our heart, we praise the Lord that His peace, which is beyond understanding, will guard our heart and mind in Christ Jesus.

The running out is a sign that running over is coming.
You may feel like you’re running out of strength today; you’re weary from everything that’s going on.
Get ready.
Running over strength is coming: strength that you’ve never felt, energy like you’ve never seen. You may be running out of resources, business has slowed down, but get ready. Running over resources are headed your way. You may be running out of favor, not getting any good breaks, stuck in your career. But because you honor God, running over favor is coming, running over blessing, running over opportunities.

We each have our own idea of how we think God should help us in the problems of this life. Most of us have a pre-conceived notion of what is good for God to do for us. Unfortunately, when God does not work things out as expected, many believers let seeds of doubt fill their mind. Our trust in the trials we face is not based on that which can be seen. If you were able to see and understand everything that God is permitting in your life, you would have no need for faith. "Without faith, it is not only impossible to please God.(Hebrews 11:6) it is impossible to know the God you serve! So let me encourage you my friends to begin to walk the steps of faith. Surrender your troubles to the One who can lift you above them all. Let God’s strength fill you and give you peace for He has "given his angels charge over you.(Psalm 91:11)
You were never meant to carry your burdens alone.
No matter what heartache or pain you have now, the peace of Christ can be still be yours if you trust it all to Him.

No matter what is happening in your life today, as a believer in Jesus, you have a reason to be excited about your future!
If things seem dark right now, know that the dawn will soon appear.
The key is you have to remember that you are not here by accident.
You have a purpose and destiny to fulfill, and He isn’t finished with you yet.
Your best days are not behind you;
your best days are out in front of you. One thing I know is that God is a God of increase.
He has greater things in store for your future than you have experienced in your past.
His dream for your future is so much bigger than your own.
He wants to take you places that you’ve never dreamed and open up doors that you’ve never imagined.
He wants to bring talent out of you that you didn’t even know you had.
He wants to increase you and cause you to be a greater blessing to the people around you. Today, get your hopes up and get excited about your future! Begin to thank the Lord for what He has in store. Keep standing, keep believing and keep moving forward press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus."

Sometimes we feel like we have no more: no more strength, no more vision, no more health. That’s okay. There are seasons when you'll come to the end and run out of a good thing. What runs out in your life is not a surprise to God: the relationship that didn’t make it, the company that let you go, the loved one you lost, the health that went down. That doesn’t mean that you’ve seen your best days. It means that new levels of favor are coming, new levels of your destiny: better health, better opportunities, better relationships. God doesn’t bring you out the same.

Forgiveness
For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us . . .
—1 Thessalonians 5:9,10

Look at Christ’s death. In one biography of the great American, Daniel Webster, 863 pages deal with his career and just five pages are devoted to his death. In Hay’s life of Abraham Lincoln there are 5,000 pages but only 25 are devoted to the dramatic story of his assassination and death. In most biographies the deaths of the subjects are mere incidents at the close of the books. But when we come to the four “biographies” of Jesus, the four Gospels, we are confronted with a strange fact. One-third of Matthew is given to a description of the death of Christ. One-third of Mark, one-fourth of Luke, and one-half of John are given to His death. All these pages are devoted to the last 24 hours of His life. The death of Jesus Christ is a significant fact in human history, because Jesus Christ came for the express purpose of dying for sinners. When He left heaven, He knew He was going to the cross.

Prayer for the day
Lord Jesus, what agony You suffered for me upon the cross. I deserve Your judgment, yet You have given me forgiveness and eternal life. I praise Your beloved name.

Cure for Our Troubles
. . preaching peace by Jesus Christ (he is Lord of all).
—Acts 10:36

Would it not be wonderful if we could find an absolute cure for the troubles of human nature?
Suppose we could give a shot in the arm to the whole human race that would fill people with love instead of hate, with contentment instead of greed. Suppose, also, a cure could be found for the past mistakes, failures, and sins of mankind.

Suppose by some miracle all the past could be straightened out, all of life’s tangles could be unraveled, and the broken strings of life could be repaired. The most thrilling news in all the world is the fact that there is a cure! A medicine has been provided! The sin, confusion, and disillusionment of life can be replaced by righteousness, joy, contentment, and happiness.
A peace can be imparted to the soul that is not dependent on outward circumstances.

Prayer for the day
In complete dependence upon You, Lord Jesus, let me relay Your message of love and peace to the desperately needy souls I meet.

I want to say to somebody:
God’s gonna use this too.
We assume that it's all of the good decisions that will bring us to God's purpose, but God can turn anything around for good, even your mistakes. I'm not saying God caused it or even intended it, but God can use it.
I want you to make the confession out of your mouth by faith: God is going to use this too.

Keep honoring God. Keep an attitude of faith, and you won’t have to fight.
God will move the wrong people out of the way, He’ll open a door that you couldn’t open;
He’ll turn that situation in your health around. Outlast the sickness, outlast the injustice, outlast the trouble at work, outlast the loneliness.
You have to tap into that staying power. The Scripture says, “He who endures to the end will receive the prize.”
Don’t give up along the way;
don’t get discouraged because this is taking longer than you thought.
Your time is coming.

Today's Scripture

“Don’t hide your light! Let it shine for all; let your good deeds glow for all to see, so that they will praise your heavenly Father.”
(Matthew 5:16,)

Let Your Light Shine
There are times when God will allow us to go through a painful season so He can birth something new on the inside. If you go through something you don’t understand, God allowed this to happen because He trusts you. He knows He can count on you to take the same comfort, the same healing, the same encouragement that helped you overcome this trouble and share it with others.

Can God trust you with pain?
Or will you get caught up wondering, I don’t understand why this is happening to me?
I say this respectfully: it’s not all about you. What if God has allowed this difficulty so three years down the road you can help somebody else move forward?
Can He trust you? God is counting on you to let your light shine through the dark places.
What you’ve been through will help somebody else get through it.
Be on the lookout for others you can encourage.

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that You want to use me to help others who are struggling in the same areas where I have struggled. Thank You that I am uniquely qualified to comfort those who are going through what I’ve gone through. Help me to shine my light brightly. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Today's Scripture

For we know him who said, “Justice belongs to me; I will repay them.”
(Hebrews 10:30)

God has seen every unfair thing you’ve gone through, every person who did you wrong, every tear, every lonely night. He’s your heavenly Father, and He knows how to pay you back for what’s unfair. You don’t have to live worried because God is going to make up for the wrongs that were done.

The prophet Isaiah says that when God pays you back, “He will give you a twofold recompense.” That means God will pay you back double. In the Scripture, it wasn’t a coincidence that after all the heartache and pain that Job went through, he came out with double what he had before the testing of his faith. When you’re in an unfair situation, instead of getting sour, have a new perspective—that just qualified you for double.
They meant it to harm you, but God is going to use it to promote you. When He pays you back, you’re going to come out loaded down with blessings.

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that You are still on the throne, and You are my vindicator. Thank You that You can bring me out of difficulties better off that I was before they showed up. I believe that You are going to exceed my expectations and amaze me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

When you feel so spread thin, like you're not winning anywhere, that's when you're tempted to start pulling away. When winning in one area of your life is at the expense of another area, you start to carve yourself into pieces and not give yourself fully to any of it.
The danger for the Christian is not that you won't be forgiven of your sin, it's that God would forgive you of your sin, but you never get to the place of victory over it.
God wants you to live in victory, but you won’t be able to walk in it with half effort. You’ve got to give yourself fully to it. This is where the grace of God comes in.
The grace of God doesn't make it so you can just give up and depend on God though, it gives you the confidence to walk fully into victory. You’ve got the gift of grace. That's how you’re going to fight it — and win.

The Great I Am
Isaiah 46:3-5, 9-10

“I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you. . . ” —Isaiah 46:4

God wants to get your attention. You, who are overwhelmed by the waves. You, who are feeling the heat of fire. You, whose body is wasting away. You, who are struggling under the weight of depression.

This is your Father speaking! This is the great I am, who has proven himself again and again throughout history. This is the one who has been protecting you since you were swimming in the womb, growing up in the world, and even now as your hair turns gray and your skin wrinkles. God has always been here, and he always will be.

God sees your struggles, catches your tears, feels your pain, hears your prayers, and says, through the prophet Isaiah, “I will sustain you and I will rescue you,” and “I am God, and there is none like me.”

What is the problem that you think is too big for God? Place it before him and watch the great I am, the maker of heaven and earth, take it over. God can do anything. God can stop my cancer, lead your child to salvation, heal your broken heart, and give us the peace that is beyond understanding.

One day, God will make all things new, and “there will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain” (Revelation 21:4). Keep holding on!

Lord, help us to hold on to you when life tosses us to and fro. We know that you—the great I am—are in charge and will sustain us and carry us through. Amen.

I cried out, “I am slipping! But your unfailing love, O LORD, supported me. When doubts/anxiety filled my mind, your comfort gave me renewed hope and cheer." Psalm 94:18-19

Have you ever felt like you were slipping?
King David knew about slipping.
That emotional free fall when assailed by doubts and the loss of hope.
But he also knew about God's unfailing love and that He would comfort him.
I'm so thankful we have God's promises like this one to securely hold us up when we're unsteady and filled with doubts and anxiety: Are you facing a situation that seems bigger than a mountain?
Do "what if" worries make you feel anxious, feeling overwhelmed and ready to give up? Has life dealt you a powerful blow causing you to emotionally lose your footing from what was once a solid stance?

And if you are a Christ follower, God is working everything out for your good and for His glory.
If life's circumstances cause us to feel anxious we can call out to God for help. His love for us is unfailing and He is always there to support us when our feet begin to slip. When you do begin to slip and fall,
He’ll be there to catch you. And when you are full of doubts and uncertainties, just look back at all the times He’s helped you, all the instances where He has been present in your life. If He’s ordered your steps this far, He isn’t going to stop now. Challenges and difficult trials can make us feel uncertain, but God is faithful to hold us up as we trust in Him. Safe within His loving grip we can have the confidence to keep going down the mountain of life. So today, don't let slipping scare you. Bring all fears, all your doubts and anxieties to God and let Him comfort you and renew your hope and cheer.
