I’m currently working on a near‑future thriller set in the volcanic wilderness of Kamchatka, exploring de‑extinction science and a mysterious series of attacks

Sharing a great review today for my first Novella - Escape To Phobos:

Escape to Phobos has backbone. A world where survival, science, and courage collide on a ravaged Earth and beyond. That alone puts the author miles ahead of the copy-paste crowd flooding Amazon with recycled plots. A world of Earth’s dying ecosystems, a brilliant savant teen, and the fight for humanity’s survival in the stars grips like a thriller

Through the wonders of the Internet, there is very little I can't research, so I felt as if I didn't need to travel to Egypt before I wrote Six and A Half Days, but I had the opportunity to go shortly after I wrote my novel. I took two camel rides and really loved it. By the way, the camel you see was a beautiful young male that started running, and it wasn't easy to hang on!

I mainly blog for fun, but I won't lie; I get pretty excited when I see people reading my content. It motivates me to spend longer on each blog post and points me in the right direction when considering topics to blog about. Google Analytics does not include every country for my readership. For instance, countries that were not included are Australia, Austria, Africa, Chile, Nepal, China, and many others.

I'm currently working on two screenplays - Colony One and The Smilodone Code. One is finished, and the second is nearly completed. Writing is thinking. To write well is to think clearly. That's why it's so hard. Writing screenplays forces you to consider many elements regarding story structure and other narrative devices that can be used to enhance the infinitely more complex demands of a novel.

I believe we need to travel to develop broad, charitable views of the world and that staying in one place for your entire life will not allow you to do so.

Onto another story for 2024. I take all these disparate events and connect them. I have to make them seem inevitable and yet surprising and plausible!

I sent my Phobos Series trilogy to Elon Musk in 2017. I was near L.A. at the time for a Mars Society convention and thought it would be fun to send him my novelettes. It was a sort of a "what the hell why not" moment. I've heard that Mr. Musk is into science fiction. So I took an Uber to the nearest UPS store from my hotel location and mailed them to the SpaceX address (on Rocket Road) Inside the books, I made a few personal inscriptions to Elon about his passion for getting us to Mars, and something like —"when you get to Mars, read this." On my receipt, UPS informed me that the front guard had received the package. To update the story - No, Mr. Elon Musk did not personally call me and tell me he read my books, but I certainly hope he did.
