Students from majors across multiple disciplines participated in Karla Diaz' Art 375 service learning course, working on projects for Get on The Bus, a program that unites children with their mothers and fathers in prison in a statewide prison visiting program, part of the Center for Restorative Justice Works. For many students, it's the first time their work has been seen and viewed by the public, invaluable experience and resume asset.

Karla Diaz is a writer and multidisciplinary artist who engages in painting, installation, video, and performance. Her socially engaged practice generates exciting collaborations and provokes important dialogue among diverse communities. Notably, she is the co- founder of the socially engaged collective and community artist space Slanguage.
