Stacey Porter Antiques

Hi, it's me Dash. Well, its Monday morning and boy have we had a busy week. Mom has been busy loading dad's van for the Brimfield show, in Massachusetts. My dad's name is Matt. He is coming up tonight to look in on us and make sure we are taken care of before we leave.
Today I had a bath at Cedar Dale kennel in Pell Lake, to make sure I will be looking good for Brimfield. Peache's is getting a beauty day, too. One of our favorite things is having a beauty contest while we are there while our mom's are working at the Big Antique Show. We check out other dogs and comment on what they are wearing, how they are walking, smiling, etc.. We look for good socialization skills as well as looks that are gentle on the eyes. ( Voices count, too) Peaches and I love to argue about who we like best and why. We rarely get to find out if the other dog's like us but we hope they do and we hope they come back to our booth so we can get to know them better. Our mom's tell us never to judge a book by its cover.
Speaking of which, my dad has a book business called, This Old Book". I might add, that i think he often judges a book by its cover, and mostly, its jacket. I know he likes to buy mostly old books which are my favorite. I know most of the books history by its unique odors. Peache's and I love to sniff books and tell stories about them. we laugh a lot when we do this and our parents shake their heads. They clearly don't understand our vision!
Mom hasn't really bought that much this week. I have been watching her polish silver and watch Turner Classic Movies. The weather has been a little moody and we just stay mostly in the house preparing for the show. Many times I go outside without my mom to look into our neighbor's window. Our neighbors are Bob and Carol, to the West. They have a husky named, Blaze, that I am nuts about. Blaze has never been married and I am pretty sure he is nuts about me, too. We show off in front of each other by kind of jumping and kicking around. Our parents don'[t know it, but I relieve myself quite frequently on their lawn. I am always watching my mom pick up after me and i can of feel bad because her hips are going. i just go over to Blaze's house because Carol and Bob's hips are still good. Mom doesn't know it but I think carol and Bob are on to me. They all call me a peeping Tom because I like to go over to their house and look and stare in their living room window. Sometimes I see their cat, whom I have never met. Carol always comes out when she sees me and gives me a big hug and sometimes a treat. I really like Carol.
Mom and I have made and I have made a lot of new friend's here in Williams bay because we had our store, which is now closed. We met people from all over the world in that little store. People would fly in just to see some of our antique things in person and then take them home. Once mom sold a pair of carved jade stone money trees and the man flew all the way here from China to pick them up in person and carry them all the way back home, to China. We are often puzzled by the lengths some people will go to find us and the things we sell. However, we are just simply delighted!

Hello, my name is Dash. I am a border collie, with an attitude. I know because everyone says so. My best friend is Peaches, she is a golden doodle, with issues. I know because I hear what her mom, Katrina says. I guess she like to chase bikes and bite people that are driving them. I have not seen her do this so I am not sure I really believe it. One thing for sure, Peaches likes my toys. When she first comes to visit kind of bothers me that she takes them, like they are hers. I just try to go with the flow and then we start sharing and playing together.
Our two moms are antique dealers. They kind of share the business, it is named after my mom, Stacey Porter Antiques. We live close to Lake Geneva, in Wisconsin. Peaches and her mom live in Shelby Township, Michigan. We get to see each other when our moms do antique shows.
Our moms talk to each other everyday using Skype, so we know what is going on. Peaches and I listen during our mom's morning coffee time.
We are getting ready to do a show In Brimfield, Ma. The show is at the New England Hotel, May 9-14. My mom, Stacey, is busy packing for the trip so we can meet with Katrina and Peaches and caravan together across the country with our vans full of antiques.
One thing for sure, Peaches and I love our mom's business. We love all the beautiful things that seem to just walk into the car, storage units, and sometimes even our house. Most days mom lists antiques on the web and answers a lot of questions.
Everyday we have to pack and ship just to stay ahead of it. Freight shipment comes during the week to do a pick up. this is my favorite because the freight people always give me a treat.
This week my mom bought a butler chest of drawers, by Bodart. I love the painted furniture because it is girly, like me. I am enclosing some picture mom took with her I phone, to show Katrina.
Katrina and Peaches bought tons of finished curtains this week. they are beautifully lined and inner lined, Peaches told me this morning during our mom's morning conversation.
We have a friend that works for mom, named Dell. Dell took down a tree in our back hard named, a Widow Maker. I am not sure why but mom said it had to go. We were all concerned the baby tree in front and the evergreens beside it would be safe. there are Robin's nest to be concerned about, after all it is Spring. The time for babies to be born.
I will be writing in my diary this week and will add to my post Mondays.
