The Kansas Pilots Association promotes general aviation growth and safety in Kansas while guarding and protecting the rights of pilots.
The Kansas Pilots Association is dedicated to the furtherance and enhancement of general aviation interests in the great state of Kansas. The objectives of the KPA are:
1. Encourage Safety in General Aviation Flying.
2. Promote the Growth of General Aviation in KS.
3. Assist Federal, State and Local Governments on General Aviation Matters.
4. Guard and Protect the Rights of Pilots.

KPA Visit to Hesston College of Aviation – March 3, 2026
Members of KPA had the opportunity to visit the Hesston College Aviation program at the Newton/County Airport on March 3rd. Mike Baker, Director of Aviation at Hesston College, gave us a great overview of the program and took time to answer many questions.
Thank you, Mike, for your time, hospitality, and professionalism. It was a very informative visit.

Location: Hesston Aviation College, Newton KS (KEWK)
Flying in: Meet at the Newton Campus (South End of the field).
Driving in: Second right on N. Oliver from 1st street.
Time: Arrive at 1845 for a short meeting. Presentation at 1900.
No restaurant on the premise, so please eat before you arrive.

We had a full ramp with 20 members present and two new members in attendance yesterday at K81, Miami County. Great food and conversation for all. Are you ready to join KPA? Tyler Smith has invited all of us to stop by 9K8 (Kingman, KS) after the fly-out for food, drink and a special showing of “Strategic Air Command”. The movie will start at 3 PM so we have plenty of time to get there, have fun, and leave before night fall.
(Also, Kingman has lowered their fuel price to 4.95!)

Arrive by 6 to eat and social. Meeting will begin at 7 PM.
Presentation: JJ Mills from the ICT Tower will be coming to talk to us about tower operations and give us some tips when talking to ATC.
