Meet the Team Behind the Scenes
At Great Plains Industries, keeping things running takes a team—and we’ve got a great one.
Our Facilities Maintenance and Production Reliability teams work side by side every day to keep everything operational—from lights and plumbing to CNC mills, lathes, and custom automation systems.
There are just 9 of them, but together they bring 197 years of experience to the table.
They don’t just fix things—they help design, build, and improve the systems that keep production moving.
Not every fluid measurement setup works the same way.
Some systems need a local display.
Some need a signal sent back to controls.
Some need alarms to help monitor limits during the process.
FLOMEC OM Series meters are built for that kind of flexibility, with reed switch, Hall effect, quadrature pulse, and 4–20 mA output options.
Add a local display, and users can access diagnostics, set volume and time units, and program high/low limit set points for process monitoring.

What matters most in your setup: display visibility, output signal, or alarm monitoring?
When the measurement is off, the problem usually shows up somewhere else.
The batch is wrong.
The process drifts.
The numbers do not match what the team expected.
FLOMEC OM Series oval gear meters are factory calibrated for highly repeatable measurement, with accuracy as high as 0.2%.
They are also built for demanding conditions, with operating capability up to 5,800 PSI and 300°F.

What causes more trouble in your setup: pressure, temperature, or measurement repeatability?

We’re celebrating America’s 250th by recognizing the people behind manufacturing
Meet Sabrina from our Meter Assembly team.
“Knowing that I am giving my daughter new and fun adventures… that’s all the motivation I need. Plus, she’s very spoiled, so she gets expensive.” 😄
She also takes pride in her work:
“I’m happy to help solve problems with our equipment and catch mistakes.”
And when it comes to her team:
“GPI has become like a second family.”
A strong sense of purpose—with just a little extra spending money built in 💸
When every batch, blend, or dispense needs to be right, the meter matters.
FLOMEC OM Series Oval Gear Meters are built for applications where repeatable measurement is the job — not a nice-to-have.
One proof point: these meters are factory-calibrated and can deliver accuracy as high as 0.2%, helping crews measure liquid transfer with greater confidence.
They also use oval gear technology, which directly measures liquid volume as it moves through the meter.

Where does accuracy matter most in your setup: batching, blending, dispensing, or inventory tracking?

We’re celebrating America’s 250th by recognizing the people who make manufacturing happen every day.
Meet Mike from Quality Assurance—he keeps our inspection and test equipment calibrated and on track.
“I enjoy the flexibility of being cross-trained in different areas of QA. A variety of tasks keeps me from beating my head against my desk.”
His take on manufacturing?
“It means that I am employed… currency can be exchanged for goods and/or services.” (Fair enough, Mike 😄)
He also credits his team:
“A range of backgrounds allows us to bounce ideas off of each other… My supervisory team lets me organize my own workflow. A baffling decision, perhaps, but nothing catastrophic so far.”
We’ll call that a win.
Not every liquid transfer job calls for the same meter setup.
Some applications need stainless steel.
Some need aluminum.
Some need PPS for chemical compatibility.
The FLOMEC OM Series offers options across material types, line sizes, and flow ranges — helping match the meter to the fluid rather than forcing the application to fit around the meter.
That matters when you are working with clean solvents, oils, lubricants, water-based liquids, or certain chemicals.

What is the first thing you check before choosing a flow meter: fluid type, line size, or flow rate?

Not every fluid measurement job needs the same kind of meter.
Fuel, chemicals, water, batching, dispensing, and food/beverage processes can all create different challenges in the field. FLOMEC helps users match the meter technology to the application with turbine, ultrasonic, oval gear, paddle wheel, and instrumentation options.
That means better support for accurate liquid transfer, batching, and dispensing — without treating every setup the same.
What usually drives your choice of meter first: the fluid, the flow range, or the installation setup?

As we begin our journey toward America’s 250th birthday, we pause to honor those who helped build our nation through service and sacrifice.
This flag, flown in honor of our veterans through the Machinists’ Union Flags of Freedom program, is a symbol of gratitude we can never fully repay.
Thank you to all who have served.
Batching and blending fluids leaves little room for guesswork.
The FLOMEC Oval Gear Series helps operators measure with accuracy and repeatability in tough applications like agriculture, construction, oil and gas, and mining.
These positive displacement meters are designed for installations where consistent measurement matters — whether you’re managing product transfer, blending, or process control.
Assembled in Wichita, Kansas, and Caringbah, New South Wales, Australia.
