OUR PHILOSOPHY
Our philosophy starts with the goodness of work and the critical role that physical labor plays in the character development of a young person. We are looking for more coaches/volunteers for Raising Men Lawn Care!
Raising Men Lawn Care gives students the opportunity to learn real-world business skills, build confidence, and serve people in our community through lawn care. But one of the biggest parts of the program is the coaches who walk alongside them.
In this video, one of our coaches shares his experience and what it has meant to be part of Raising Men Lawn Care. Coaching is not just about lawns. It is about investing in young men, helping them grow as leaders, and showing them what it looks like to work hard and serve others well.
If you are interested in becoming a coach or volunteer, we would love to connect with you.

Huge congratulations to one of our outstanding students, Kailyn Jackson! Her hard work and determination have earned her a spot on the City of Wichita’s 2026–27 Mayor’s Youth Council. Kailyn has been a student entrepreneur with Student Startup for the past several years, owning and operating mowing, babysitting, and baking businesses. We’ve seen incredible growth in her over that time, and we’re excited to see all she continues to accomplish.

Student Startup has had the opportunity to work with students at Marshall Middle School in Ms. Mitchell’s class. Lessons focused on entrepreneurship, starting businesses, and introducing students to what Student Startup is all about.
The students brought great questions, creativity, and energy to each discussion. Thank you to Ms. Mitchell and Marshall Middle School for welcoming Student Startup and investing in their students.
