I have loved making Urban Prairie over the last ten years. Meeting all of you at markets, filling orders, creating new products, and participating in local food. I find myself in a time of transition and making major changes, so I made the tough decision to close Urban Prairie this month. Thank you for buying my products. I appreciate all of you!

2022 is bringing back Tomato Jalapeño Jelly. I first made this jelly in 2013. I bought a grilled chicken sandwich for lunch that had a tomato jalapeño jelly on it. I liked the flavor so much and searched for it to buy and found none. So I started experimenting to make it myself. And this was the result. It is great on a sandwich — or cornbread — or as a glaze.

Restock! Pickled Brussels Sprouts and Ginger Pickled Red Beets

These imperfect fruits have been transformed into Apple Butter, Apple Pear Filling and Cranberry Pear Butter. Apple Pear Filling is spiced with cardamom and makes a tasty fruit crisp, cobbler, turnovers — available through the Firefly Farm Food Hub.
