This Tuesday, I spent my morning with the amazing staff and residents at ComfortCare Homes, Inc playing and user testing an idiom-based matching game I designed for seniors experiencing cognitive decline at Harvard Extension School. It was *a HOOT!!* The residents *handed me my tail* — plenty of things to re-design for my next iteration. Definitely not *a wrap* YET. 🤓

Huge thank you to Micala Gingrich-Gaylord, Jennifer Bolyard, Piper, Vicky, and the rest of the amazing team and residents at ComfortCare Homes. This game wouldn't be alive without them!

The BEST morning facilitating a branding & design bootcamp at Eric Fisher Academy! 💚 The cohort blew me away with their intuitive design + style skills! 🤩

It's Banned Books Week, y'all! 📚🎉

Those who know me know that I LOVE books, I LOVE education, and I LOVE standing up against censorship - so it was a "HECK YES!" when The Shout invited me to create a photo illustration for this melt.my.heart essay about a beloved elementary school teacher who fought for fREADom.

Mrs. Peebler - made her mark on author Melissa Reed - it was only fitting to illustrate a conceptual bookMARK with a book banned in military olive drab textile. !!!Spoiler!!! Both received gold stars for WINNING the First Grade Book War. 😉⭐️⭐️💥

A very special shout out to my very own Mrs. Peebler - Mrs. Becky Uhlhorn - the BEST TEACHER EVER who students blessed enough to have her have NEVER forgotten!! Love you, Mrs. Uhlhorn!! 😁❤️🍎

📚 Join us for a Banned Books Week Kickoff Art Party! 📚

This Banned Books Week, we're standing up for the right to read. Join us in celebrating diverse voices and defending intellectual freedom. 💥

Kickoff and celebrate Banned Books Week with a FREE art party hosted by Wichita Public Library in partnership with Harvester Arts and StudioJenVenn.

📚 Attendees are invited create an artwork inspired by their favorite banned book that will be included in a community art installation at the Advanced Learning Library during Banned Books Week from September 22nd – 29th.

📚 Also at the event, there will be a "Bring Your Own Shirt" interactive block printing lab provided by Studio JenVenn. Bring a light colored t-shirt or canvas bag to create your own Banned Books Week 2024 t-shirt or tote.

All art supplies are FREE and provided. Each attendee may screen print one t-shirt or tote.
