Some good (and a little sad) news about Oswald! He officially has found a new home!! He will stay with me for a bit to continue his training before going to his new home, so I will be able to enjoy him a little more❤️

Oswald and I just finished up our week in Fort Worth Tx competing in the 2026 Mustang Magic. It was my first time competing (2nd time invited) and we came in 13th overall. He did great in 3 of the 4 classes but unfortunately we kind of bombed our first maneuvers class so it took us out of top ten. We did place 11th in trail and 8th in compulsory maneuvers. But I am so proud of him and how he handled all the crazy.. I bought him back in the auction and he is now home with me! He will still remain for sale but I plan to just ride and enjoy him for the next year before I worry about trying to find him his forever home. Oswald went to his first show last weekend and handled it all amazing! He was very nervous when we first got there with all the horses running around but quickly realized no one was out to eat him so he settled down and rode beautifully. He has about 25 rides and we drove there right before our classes so very limited warm up. Hence, we just did walk/trot classes, but we plan to go to another show at the end of the month where hopefully we can do some classes with loping.

I haven't posted an update on Oswald in a while, but here he is! He's been doing great, he's a fast learner and taking everything in stride. Strong stop and a smooth lope. He's got a personality and I'm really starting to love him. He's definitely going to be a hard one to say goodbye too. Hoping to get some pics/videos of us riding soon but I keep forgetting 🤦🏼‍♀️ Oswald is a 3yr old gelding from Black Rock Range NV and will be available at the Mustang Magic!

Got to really work with Oswald for the first time in a little over a week, it's been too muddy (because Ive procrastinated putting more sand in my round pen🫣). He did amazing, picked up right where we left off! During his time off he got his first trim, which he did amazing for, and got his teeth floated. He also loaded right into the trailer and backed out like a pro! Tonight I sat on him again and he wasn't worried at all. It's gonna rain again tomorrow so once it dries out again hopefully we'll get the first ride. I almost went for it tonight but decided this was a good place to end it. Oswald will be available at the Mustang Magic in January. He is a 3yr old from Black Rock Range, NV, standing at 14.2 right now.

Oswald's first saddling! He did great, started crow hopping for about a lap, slipped and fell, and then no funny business after that😂 He's a good minded 3yr old!

Oswald got his halter off tonight, so let's hope I can catch him tomorrow 😂 I can fly spray him, throw the stick and string all over him, and pet almost all over now too. I hurt my thumb at work the night I brought him home, so Ive only been doing little stuff since Im one handed. Hopefully it will heal soon and I can start doing more.
