🎉 11 Years of Service 🎉
I’d like to recognize Ben Bunker for his 11 years of service as sales manager to Whitney’s TriTown Marine. I’ve known Ben Bunker since he was a school kid. Always industrious and driven to succeed, he was an outstanding athlete and leader during his school years.
When Ben began selling autos and trucks for a dealership in Ellsworth, he contacted me to try to sell me a truck. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and nicely persistent. Though he didn’t succeed in selling me a truck, his soft and kind way sold me on his character and effectiveness as a salesman.
In 2011 we purchased the assets and inventory from TriTown Marine in Harrington and moved operations to its present location in Machias. Not long after, Ben Bunker reached out to me seeking an opportunity to sell marine motors, boats, and trailers for us. We made a deal that gave Ben an opportunity to “move home” and gave our company an opportunity to move forward.
Ben has received many testimonials from many customers who likely had the same experience as I when he attempted to sell me a truck - a conduit of information and relationship building between dealership and end user.
Ben is dedicated to his company, his family, his products, his coworkers, and he’s very dedicated to his customers.
A good salesman knows all about the features and technical aspects of what they sell. A great salesman knows all of the above but also does a lot of listening. Ben is a great salesman.
Ben is dedicated to customer service. His phone is always on. He answers calls and texts all weekend long, perhaps to the chagrin of his love, Jen Jen.

Come tipping with us!
In Maine, when we harvest the balsam to make your wreath, we call it "tipping". It's a sustainable process that allows the trees to produce new tips year after year.
We pay people, who we call "tippers", by the pound to harvest balsam tips.
The tips are stacked on a stick in alternate directions until the stick weighs between 50 and 75 lbs. They are then taken to be sold to wreath producers like us.
From there, our talented wreath makers weave the balsam tips into beautiful, fragrant, Christmas Wreaths!

The Whitney Wreath Story
Whitney Wreath began because I am an entrepreneur at heart and I love Downeast Maine. I had moved away after graduating from college, but not for long. I missed my home. I love the smells here in Maine, the different seasons, the ocean, the freshwater lakes, the blueberries. And the balsam fir.
I love the smell of a balsam fir Christmas wreath. I first encountered the fragrance when I was eight years old (I tell the story here). It was the beginning of my love of Christmas wreaths, and the process of making a product with my own hands for families to enjoy during the holiday season.
