Two years ago, Lutheran Hospital began a new chapter in Wheat Ridge!

Since the move to our brand new state-of-the-art building, we’ve reached highs in births, emergency department visits, surgeries and patient experience scores. Last week alone, our ED cared for a record-breaking 212 patients in a single day, and our surgical teams are averaging more than 600 procedures every month.

These milestones are possible because of our incredible caregivers, who have embraced change while continuing to provide exceptional, compassionate care to our patients and communities. Thank you for making our new hospital feel like home—and for helping Lutheran grow stronger every day. 💙

Whether you're riding an ATV, UTV or dirt bike, safety should always come first.

Grace Greathouse, RN and Prevention and Outreach Coordinator at Intermountain Good Samaritan Hospital and co-chair of the Foothills Regional Emergency Medical & Trauma Advisory Council (RETAC), shares simple but important tips to help you stay safe on off-highway vehicles.

Before you hit the trails:
🛞 Wear a DOT-approved helmet and protective gear.
🛞 Ride a vehicle that's appropriate for your age and experience.
🛞 Stay on designated trails and follow local rules.
🛞 Never ride under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
🛞 Let someone know where you're going before you head out.

A little preparation can help prevent serious injuries and ensure your next adventure is a safe one. Watch Grace's tips before your next ride.

Excellence in heart care, recognized nationally. ❤️

Lutheran Hospital has earned the American College of Cardiology’s Chest Pain – MI Registry Platinum Performance Achievement Award.

This recognition reflects our caregivers’ commitment to consistently following evidence-based guidelines for heart attack care—from quickly restoring blood flow and administering critical medications to providing education and cardiac rehabilitation referrals.

Congratulations to the Lutheran team for delivering high-quality care when every second matters.

What a day for food, fun and community! ☀️

Lutheran caregivers attended Excalibur Outreach's Community Field Day & BBQ last weekend, which brought families and neighbors together at Britton Park for field day games, team challenges, water activities, music, a delicious BBQ lunch and plenty of summer fun.

Thank you to our community partners and everyone who joined us to make memories, build connections and celebrate the spirit of our community! 💙

Health goes beyond the walls of the hospital.

Through our partnership with Benefits in Action, Lutheran Hospital helps connect patients with essential resources like health insurance, food assistance, transportation, and other public benefits that support their health long after they leave our care.

This year, Lutheran Hospital contributed approximately $33,000 to Benefits in Action, alongside matching contributions from Good Samaritan and Saint Joseph hospitals, for a combined investment of $100,000 to help expand access to these vital services.

Together, we're helping remove barriers to care and building healthier communities—one connection at a time. 💙

Some heroes wear scrubs. Others quietly step up when their community needs them.

We're proud to recognize Joey Knous, one of Lutheran Hospital's longtime plant operators, for helping stop a wildfire near Joe's Valley before it could spread. His quick thinking and willingness to act are a powerful reminder that making a difference isn't limited to the workplace. Thank you, Joey, for protecting both people and the places we love. 👏

As wildfire season continues, we also encourage everyone to do their part:
🔥 Never leave a campfire unattended and make sure it's completely out before leaving.
🚗 Avoid parking or driving over dry grass.
🚬 Properly dispose of smoking materials.
📍 Stay informed about local fire restrictions and conditions before heading outdoors.

Small actions can help prevent big disasters. Thank you, Joey, for leading by example. ❤️

A look back at a wonderful evening at Taste of Arvada! 💙

Earlier this month, Lutheran Hospital had the opportunity to connect with our community at this annual event. It was a pleasure meeting so many neighbors and sharing resources to support healthy living.

A special thank you to our Nutrition Services team for creating healthy recipe cards that guests could take home and try for themselves. We always appreciate opportunities to connect with our community beyond the hospital walls.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to visit us—we loved seeing you!

A huge thank you to everyone who participated in this year's Battle of the Badges Blood Drive at Lutheran Hospital! ❤️🚑🚒

Congratulations to Team Fire for taking home this year's victory! More importantly, our community came together to make an incredible impact by donating **86 units of blood**, exceeding our goal. Because each unit has the potential to help up to three patients, these donations could impact more than 250 lives.

Together, we also celebrated:
🩸 74 successful donations
❤️ 26 first-time donors
🚑 59 whole blood donations
🩸 12 Power Red donations, providing 24 units of red blood cells
💛 3 Red Blood Cell + Plasma donations, providing 3 units of red blood cells and 7 units of plasma

Thank you to everyone who rolled up a sleeve, our partners at Vitalant - Colorado, and the firefighters and law enforcement officers at Arvada Fire and Arvada Police Department, Colorado who made this friendly competition possible. Your generosity helps ensure lifesaving blood is available for patients in our community when they need it most.
