Congratulations to Garrett Weitzel, emergency department relief charge nurse and UBC chair, on being recognized with a L.O.V.E./DAISY Award! 💙
When Garrett noticed a patient attempting to get out of bed without assistance, he immediately stepped in to help. What started as a quick intervention became a much larger effort as he stayed at the bedside, assisted with patient care, coordinated with the care team, and helped ensure the patient remained safe and supported throughout the experience.
Even when faced with a challenging situation that created a significant fall risk, Garrett remained calm, compassionate and focused on what mattered most — the patient's safety and dignity.
Garrett’s willingness to put others first, lead by example and support both patients and fellow caregivers reflects the very best of Lutheran Hospital. Thank you, Garrett, for demonstrating our values through your exceptional teamwork, service and commitment to safe, high-quality care.

The garden serves as a place of remembrance, reflection, and gratitude for the sacrifices made to keep our communities safe.
We are proud to support initiatives that strengthen and honor the communities we serve. Thank you to the City of Arvada, the Arvada Police Foundation, and all those who helped bring this meaningful project to life. 💙
