The River Heals What the Job Takes 🎣

There’s something that happens when you put a police officer or firefighter on a boat, surrounded by the Colorado Rockies, with nothing to do but fish and be present.

The fresh air, the altitude, the sound of moving water — your body shifts. Cortisol drops. Blood pressure lowers. The constant hum of being “on” starts to quiet. Scientists call it blue mind. We just call it exactly what you needed.

And then there’s the people around you. No calls. No shift. Just your people — laughing, competing over who catches the biggest fish, and simply being together. That kind of connection does something to the soul that nothing else can replicate.

That’s what these outings are about. Not therapy. Not a program. Just good people, good water, and the kind of reset that reminds you why you love this life.

Meet Our Hosts- Doug King from West Metro Fire!

Doug is a man who puts faith and family first — and his life is proof of that. Two decades and counting at West Metro Fire — but Doug will tell you his most important role has nothing to do with a badge. He’s a devoted husband of 28 years, a father of 2, and a grandpa to 3 grandkids who are probably already his biggest fans.

When asked what keeps him going through it all? Doug’s answer is simple: “I’m just being a loyal and good person.” And honestly, that says everything.

Beyond the firehouse, Doug stays busy as a track and field coach, a chess teacher, and a volunteer with Fishing the Good Fight. He’s also one of Revital’s dedicated hosts here in the southern end of Colorado, on a mission to draw more first responders into community and connection. Over the years, he’s been truly blessed to meet some amazing people who serve our communities every single day.

When he’s not saving lives, coaching, or chasing grandkids… Doug is also apparently an Aquarius who enjoys long walks on the beach. 😄

We are so grateful for hosts like Doug — people who show up, stay loyal, make us laugh, and make Revital what it is. Come find him at an upcoming event!

Meet Our Hosts — The Davidson Crew! 🐾

Corey Davidson spent 30 years serving others as a first responder. His career began in 1995 in El Paso, TX as an EMT and volunteer firefighter — but a love for the mountains brought him to Colorado in 1998. From private EMS and Eldora Ski Patrol to 22 years in the fire service, Corey retired in 2025 from Adams County Fire Rescue having given everything to his community.

Corey and Tami? A love story worth telling. Childhood sweethearts who drifted apart in high school — only to find their way back to each other 20 years later. Sixteen happy years of marriage later, they’re still going strong. And then there’s Lainey, their newest crew member and rising therapy dog in training. Tami and Lainey are on a mission to spread joy at hospitals, nursing homes, and first responder events.

Corey likes to say he’s been part of Revital since before Revital even existed — joining Jordan on fishing trips where the vision first came to life. He was there at the very beginning, and he’s still showing up.

Whether it’s golf, skiing, rock climbing, mountain biking, kayaking, or fly fishing — Corey has always believed that the outdoors heals. Hosting Revital outings is his way of sharing that with the responder community he loves.

“I enjoy hosting outings to give responders an opportunity to relax and reset. Nature is one of the best ways I have found to ground myself, take a moment, and get away from the stresses we all face. Having the opportunity to continue to contribute to the first responder community by hosting Revital outings has been a blessing.” — Corey Davidson

“We all support Revital’s mission and feel lucky to be able to help out in any way possible.” — Corey, Tami & Lainey 🐾

⛳ Meet Our Host — Brad Frederking!

We are so honored to introduce Brad Frederking — a man who has spent a lifetime showing up for first responders, and who continues to do so in the most meaningful ways.

Brad dedicated an incredible 36 years to serving as a police officer in Boulder — a career built on integrity, service, and a genuine love for the people around him. He and his wife Deborah, who retired from Broomfield PD, now enjoy life as empty nesters with two grown daughters. A household with two retired officers? We’re guessing dinner conversations are never boring. 😄

In retirement, Brad has been working part-time in client relations with Townsend Retirement — and it’s a role that fits him perfectly. Throughout his entire career, building and maintaining meaningful relationships within the first responder community was never just a priority — it was who he is.

That same heart is what brought Brad to Revital Colorado, where he hosts golf outings sponsored by Townsend Retirement, bringing first responders together in a relaxed, meaningful setting. When we asked Brad what this connection means to him, he said it best himself:

“Connecting two great organizations, led by people who truly care about first responders’ physical, mental, and financial well-being, has been one of the greatest blessings of my life.”

Brad, thank you for 36 years of service and for continuing to pour into this community every single day. We are so grateful to have you. 🙌

This flag flies because of them.

We remember the fallen today with full hearts and deep gratitude. Their love for this country was the greatest gift — and we don’t take a single day of freedom for granted.
