Stand Up For Animals is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide for and promote the health and welfare of animals in our region as well as educate and assist those who care for them. SUFA raised the funds to build a new animal shelter to replace the Town of Westerly's aging shelter. A collaborative effort with the Town of Westerly whereby SUFA entered into a $1 a year, 99-year lease

Kwazii is a sweet orange boy who benefitted from a Stand Up For Animals Emergency Grant when he was rushed to the vet for emergency surgery. We are happy to report that he is doing well and living his best orange life!

RABIES IS REAL, LOCAL, AND DEADLY.

On June 1, 2026, Ledge Light Health District issued a public health warning regarding a bat that tested positive for rabies in North Stonington, CT.

DO NOT FEED OR APPROACH STRAY ANIMALS OR WILDLIFE. Stray animals and wildlife exhibiting concerning behavior should be reported to local Animal Control Officers.
