The big striped bass light tackle experts Connecticut Fishing Charters.
Light tackle and fly fishing for striped bass, false albacore, bonito, bluefish and blackfish in Long Island Sound, Block Island Sound, Housatonic River.
We never actually hooked this striper. Instead, we snagged a line and sinker that was trailing behind the fish. The fish was still carrying someone else’s hook, leader, and sinker.
We were able to remove the hook and all the tackle, and release it in much better shape than we found it.
Just goes to show—you never know what you’re going to encounter out on the water.
Have you ever seen anything like this before?
What caused these giant gash marks on this striped bass? 🤔
One of the craziest things I’ve seen all season. Matt accidentally dropped the rod overboard, jumped in after it, and managed to save it. A few minutes later, we hooked up with this fish—and it was carrying three massive scars down its side.
What do you think caused it?
Either way, this fish is proof of how tough striped bass really are. Surviving something like this and still feeding hard is pretty incredible.
Drop your guess in the comments. 👇🎣
First time I’ve ever seen anything like this. What appears to be a GPS tracking device. Tried to call the phone number and no one answers. Any thoughts on where this is from????
Tripled up on big stripers! 🔥🔥🔥
It doesn’t get much better than this—three anglers hooked up on big bass at the same time.

Another big striper on the Fin-S Fish rigged on a Titan HD Jig Head! 🔥
This soft plastic continues to be one of the most consistent producers in my arsenal because it perfectly matches so many of the baitfish striped bass are feeding on throughout the season—bunker, herring, silversides, and more.
The size, profile, and natural swimming action closely imitate a striper’s everyday diet, while the Titan HD Jig Head keeps it tracking true and fishing effectively even in heavy current. When bass are keyed in on smaller forage, this combination is tough to beat.

The first bluefish of the year are here, and they’re big gators! 🦈💥
Love them or hate them, bluefish are one of the hardest-fighting fish in our local waters. Powerful runs, aggressive strikes, and plenty of jumps make them an absolute blast to catch.

The IMX Pro Green 844S is one of my go-to rods when the bite gets tough and a finesse presentation is the key to success.
Whether you’re fishing light jigs, soft plastics, or smaller topwaters, this rod has the perfect blend of sensitivity, power, and control to make subtle presentations and detect even the lightest strikes.
Built with G Loomis’ Taper Tech technology, the IMX Pro Green is incredibly lightweight, responsive, and sensitive. The CI4+ carbon reel seat maximizes feel, while the premium Fuji guides ensure smooth casting performance and durability.
If you’re serious about striped bass fishing and want a rod that excels in finesse applications, the IMX Pro Green 844S is a must-have in your arsenal!
One of the biggest advantages of Mega Live Imaging is being able to watch fish react to your presentation in real time.
In this clip, I’m watching a large school of striped bass while working a jig through them. You can actually see individual fish rise up, inspect the lure, and decide whether to commit or not. That kind of feedback is invaluable—it teaches you how fish behave and react to your lure.
