Our favorite tea shop on Long Island. A huge assortment of tea, along with Christine who is knowledgeable and friendly. Who could ask for more!
We learned so much about and in today’s Tea Rituals & Mediation class! A huge thank you to Kristine Henderson at Infuse Tea Bar by The Pleasures of Tea for all of the amazing information and a lovely afternoon tasting.
Been loving my new iced tea pitcher Kristine! I've been making some great cold brewed teas. This one is the Cranberry Crimson. I've also done my favorite Raspberry Blackberry in this pitcher. So easy to do! Thanks for the recommendation and for the explanation of directions.
Hi! Before the holiday I picked up those biodegradable and compost friendly tea bags you have there and said I'd let you know how they worked, but I haven't had a chance to stop in. I'm happy to report they are EXCELLENT! Easy to use. Steeps well. Doesn't fall apart in my reusable to go cup. Doesn't leak. Tea leaves do not escape the bag. I have also made tea bags and thrown them in my purse and backpack (in a zip lock bag just in case they opened up) to test how well they'd do with bringing them on the go to be made somewhere else. Several days in each and no spillage. So I'd say they were a great success. Thanks!
Bring on the fall weather!
Sorta got a stomach bug- there’s a tea for that! The only thing that’s making me feel better at the moment. What a delicious blend and the second infusion isn’t bitter.
Kristine- I received my tea order yesterday- and the lavender coconut was everything I hoped it would be! Your tea, as always never disappoints- but that first cup of LC last night spoke to my soul 💜☕️ thanks again- for everything/ Merry Christmas! 🎄
do you have snow plum monkey tea or plum snow tea, in loose tea? If not can you tell me where I can find it. I used to get it near Allentown PA. Thanks for any help you can give me/
Does this mean that we need to come see you for tea?
I’ve been making cocktails at home with tea infused libations. Here’s my most recent cocktail! It’s matcha infused vodka, with a rosemary simple syrup, lemon, and honey. All infusions are homemade! 🍵😬🐝
I am absolutely loving the Fig & Lavender tea. I love the "aftertaste" I get from it. DEE-LISH!
I didn't ask you (Christine) for a recommendation, even though I know you would have gladly given me one. When I walked into your shop this evening I had a headache and a sore tummy. I made an educated guess and picked up a raspberry, ginger, white tea. I nursed it in the car on the way to my event, and it did in fact help. It also tasted delicious. I let my fiancée try a sip; he said it tasted like a more delicious Luden's cough drop and then proceeded to call you a modern day apothecary. Thank you for helping to make me feel better, my magical tea friend. 🙂
Morning tea party, iced tea in her new tea set. She loves it, thank you!

The answer to yesterday's trivia question is True! Caffeine has a half-life of 1.5 to 9.5 hours. This depends on each person's genetics, which determines how quickly the body metabolizes what is ingested. If you're having trouble sleeping, don't only look at the time you stop caffeine, but also how much you are consuming during the day.

Trivia Tuesday - True or False - Caffeine has anywhere from a 1.5- to 9.5- hour half-life.

Today we are traveling to the Nilgiri Region of India and our tea pick is the Chamraj Estate Frost Wulong Tea. This is one of the highest tea gardens in the Nilgiris, a mountainous region in the State of Tamil Nadu in the southwestern part of the country. The tea garden was established in 1922 at an elevation above 6,500 feet. The high-grown leaves are plucked during the dry winter months when fog covers the tea gardens, giving us the highly sought-after Frost teas. After harvest, they are then mid-oxidized about 50%-60%. The twisted strip-style leaves unfurl to yield a lively, clean, medium-bodied infusion that is flavorful and highly aromatic with notes of honey and stone fruit and a hint of spice. We'll be sampling this tea all weekend, so feel free to stop by to try some! 🙂

Thank you for the participation in yesterday's trivia question and the answer is A. Well done! Yes, what makes earl grey distinctive is that it contains bergamot essential oil or flavor. Traditionally, earl grey is crafted with a black tea base; however, now there are many different varieties of earl grey that are crafted with green, wulong, and white teas or other herbs and herbal blends. Some people think that earl grey is a plain black tea, but that is not the case.

02/28/2023

Trivia Tuesday - What is distinctive about earl grey?
a) It contains bergamot essential oil or flavor
b) It is a black tea
c) It does not contain any added flavor
d) b & c only

Today we are traveling to the Wu Yi Mountain Region in the Fujian Province of China and our tea pick is the Da Hong Pao Wulong Tea! Also known as Big Red Robe, it is one of the ten most famous teas of China and it is the most famous and widely produced of the Yan Cha (Rock or Cliff) wulong teas from this region. Rock Teas benefit from the rocky soil that imparts a distinctive minerality. Historically, small amounts of this tea were processed from wild-harvested leaves and commercial production of Da Hong Pao began only about 60 years ago using cuttings of the original tea plants. Contrary to popular belief, there is no Da Hong Pao cultivar; instead, this wulong is produced from either the Bei Dou or Qi Dan cultivars or a blend of these and/or other cultivars in order to produce a tea with the distinctive, classic “rock” taste representative of this region. Leaves from different cultivars are blended, mid-oxidized around 40-60%, and then roasted. They yield a smooth and flavorful, medium-bodied infusion with deep, earthy, mineral, mild toasty, and stone fruit notes. We'll be sampling this tea all weekend, so feel free to stop by to try some! 🙂
