Help us help those who have protected our freedom and are now in need of a companion! All money raised from today's Craft Fair & Chinese Auction fundraiser will go to Paws of War, which trains and supplies service dogs to Veterans and First Responders. Let's help show those who have already done so much to help us that they are appreciated, and get them what they need!

Today the WSFD Juniors remember all of the 9/11 heroes and those lost due to related illnesses.

Always keeping it interesting...

The juniors held their April monthly meeting this past Friday (4/15) at the Islip Town Firefighters Museum (across the LI Ducks baseball stadium in Central Islip). Following the regular business meeting, the juniors were given the opportunity to check out equipment and apparatus showcasing over 125 years of firefighting history in the Town of Islip representing all the fire departments and ambulance companies.

This was the third time the juniors held their meeting at the museum (at their request). Just another example of the many unique experiences our juniors get to enjoy being an active member of the West Sayville Junior FD!

On Friday 2/18, the juniors line and social officers for 2022 were officially installed by "the big department" for their term of office.

Shown here are our Secretary/Treasurer Marina Pattilio and Sgt-At-Arms Charlie Leigh-Manuell being installed.

Congratulations to all our newly installed officers!

An update from our Juniors Food Drive in November...

Following the distribution of the numerous food items donated during our food drive, Coaches Melissa and Charlie were able to use the remainder of the cash and gift cards collected to donate yet another 235 items to the food bank operated by St. John Nepomucene in Bohemia!

The food bank was extremely grateful as they advised that post holiday their donations (and subsequent inventory) tend to drop off so these items will definitely be of help to those in need!

THANK YOU AGAIN to all who donated food items, cash or gift cards, your unrelenting support allows the juniors to continue their good work supporting our communities! 🚒🍞🥔🥕🍗🥫

Strong work by former WSFD Jr. and current Sayville FD member Robert Giacoia on being awarded the Glen Pettit Memorial Scholarship to support his schooling at SCCC for a future career as a New York City firefighter.

The Glen Pettit Memorial Scholarship is presented in honor of WSFD Truck 3 member Glen K. Pettit who was lost in the line of duty on 9/11 while in his career capacity as an NYPD officer. May his service & sacrifice never be forgotten.

It's Summer time!!! 😎

Our juniors (current & past) making the most of Summer 2021 😃

Right on time for Mother's Day...

The juniors wish to extend congratulations to Coach Melissa and Coach Charlie on the arrival of baby Abigail Noelle born @ 1:41 AM on May 6th!

The juniors wish to extend our heartfelt condolences to the D'Onofrio family on the loss of Ex-Chief Harry D'Onofrio, a 43 year member of the West Sayville FD who was a pivotal part of "the big department". With a legacy of service in both the WSFD and the NYPD, Harry was a proud father/papa to his sons Patrick & Brian (both current WSFD chiefs) as well as his grandsons Tyler & Sean who are both current WSJFD juniors (Tyler was issued badge # 72 in honor of his papa when he joined the juniors several years ago).

One of Harry's many good traits was his willingness to welcome new members into the department/Company 3. Many of our current younger senior dept. members fondly remember how welcoming Harry was to them when making the transition to "the big department".

Apparently, Oreo's were Harry's favorite nighttime snack so we ask that you "raise an Oreo" in memory of Harry and his legacy (that will continue for generations to come) in the West Sayville FD. 😊

One of the coolest gifts from last night's shower...

Coach Melissa (and Coach Charlie) is all ready to welcome the newest member of The Future of Tradition! 😊

Photos from West Sayville Junior Fire Department's post 03/20/2021

Last night marked the return once again to in-person Juniors meetings/trainings along with the installation of our line/social officers for 2021.

Our "training session" last night was actually the cover for a secret baby shower for Coach Melissa (and Coach Charlie too)!

We look forward to meeting our newest junior Jr. in May! 👶🚒

Wishing all our juniors and their families a Happy, Healthy & Prosperous New Year!

Thanks for all your continued dedication and service throughout this hectic year. Here's to 2021 being much better!

Wishing all our juniors and their families a very Merry Christmas!

Thank you for all your continued hard work through this very trying year, your efforts have impacted and enriched the lives of many this year who needed that support so very much.

Merry Christmas to all! 🚒🎅

Santa Claus is comin' to town...

Our incredible elves (aka WSFD Juniors) once again added fire safety messages to 1,000 (yes ONE THOUSAND...with more to come) individually packaged popcorn balls that will be distributed during our annual Santa Run this coming Saturday 12/19.

Santa will be around West Sayville and Oakdale starting between 10-11 AM so keep an ear for sirens of the four wheeled reindeer escorting his sleigh!

All totaled, our juniors will be adding these fire safety messages to a total of 2,500 (yes, TWENTY FIVE HUNDRED) individually packaged popcorn balls!

Happy Holidays from the WSFD Juniors! 🚒🚒🚒🚒🎅
