Q: Where are you from?
Lubbock, Texas

Q: How long have you been doing hair?
On and off for 14 years. I received my Cosmetology license out of a high school program.

Q: What do you like about working at Birds?
I’m proud to work for the most reputable salon and barbershop in Austin, and it’s locally owned and operated. I also love the friendly and talented stylists I get work with everyday!

Q: What is your favorite cut to do?
I love transformative cuts! I love it when someone takes the leap from their comfort zone, such as having long hair to something fresh and revitalizing.

Q: Who’s your current favorite musical artist?
I would feel like a fraud if I didn’t mention My Chemical Romance, specifically their album Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge. I’ve been a diehard fan since my emo kid days! I also love SZA and Ci******es After S*x.

Q: What’s your favorite Austin hang out?
When I’m not taking my dog to Northtown Dog Park, I like to go dancing at Barbarella or listen to open-mic jazz at Skylark Lounge.

Q: What’s the best advice you’ve received about customer service?
The most important key to great customer service is the safety of the client, so keeping a sanitary work space, as well as making everyone feel safe.

Where are you from?
I grew up in West Texas, but also lived many years in Cincinnati so my heart is split right down the middle!

How long have you been doing hair?
I’ve been doing hair for over (gulp) wait for it… 30 years. Time flies when you’re having fun!

Fav memory at Birds?
This cute little soccer player wanted a haircut like Messi and wanted to film the whole thing. He was so tech savvy at like 8. The best was his nod of approval and the biggest smile ever. He has it all on film! 🎥

Fav product?
I love hair products! Ghost oil! Just a little drop to run it over a fade, buzz cut, freshly trimmed beard, or touching the ends of long hair for a little shine and texture.

Fav cut to do?
One that leaves the client smiling and feeling confident. It is all about them. And if I get to use a razor to do a little detailing then that is like the icing on the beautiful cake.

If you weren’t a stylist what would you be doing?
I dabble in Home Staging. Tranquil spaces are my forte— A little splash of coastal cowgirl. Or a rancher with miniature animals that serve no purpose other than to make people happy. 😊

Best advice you’ve received about customer service?
Ask for a referral. If I am confident the client is happy then I would love to see them again. Please send me a friend!

First professional haircut and beard trim in 10 years 😮 & it looks awesome!

Thanks for coming in and letting do the honors. ✂️ See ya again in 10 more years 😂 but maybe sooner!
