Dr. Yike Jin from South Shore University Hospital provided a fascinating talk on the growth of neurosurgery, while Dr. Charles Fasanya discussed Catholic Health Good Samaritan University Hospital's new Level One Trauma Center designation and their enhanced capabilities for treating patients with traumatic injuries. A touching memorial service was conducted today at West Islip High School's Vietnam Memorial, paying tribute to Vietnam veterans for their unwavering service to our nation. The event also commemorated the West Islip heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice during the Vietnam War.

We extend our sincere appreciation to Charles Spencer of the West Islip Chamber of Commerce for organizing this significant event. The ceremony featured esteemed speakers, including Captain John Cochrane, US Navy (Retired), Colonel James C. Brennan, USMC (Retired), and Kevin Murphy of West Islip High School. Their contributions helped make this an unforgettable gathering for all those in attendance.

2022 marks the 21st anniversary of the September 11th attacks. The West Islip Chamber of Commerce commemorates that day, as we remember the nearly 3,000 innocent lives lost that day, including 11 members of the West Islip Community, and the scores of heroic first responders and who have perished since.
