Consistent lubrication is vital to chassis and body components. Maintaining the proper lubrication will reduce wear, frequent lubrication acts to purge the chassis and body components of contaminants. If rock dust, dirt, sand and water work their way into these components, they will form a "grinding compound" that reduces bearing life substantially.

To properly lubricate manually, it normally takes about 30 mins per vehicle and maintenance cycle. Failure to lubricate each point on every machine can have a negative impact on schedules, maintenance costs, and "running time" performance.

A recent installation was for a customer who has a large rock crusher ahead of the stone processing plant. Some boulders are too large to enter the crusher and have to be broken into smaller pieces first. To do this, they use a hydraulic breaker.

As 2022 quickly comes to a close. Automation Inc would like to review some of our installs from 2022. We have worked on construction equipment of all makes and models. These photos are of a very large Fluid Distribution System A few years ago at a City Transit Maintenance Facility in Rhode Island.

This included (7) Bulk Fluid Pumps, (134) Hose Reels, and thousands of feet of Supply Line Tubing. Note the tube bends in the supply line. By bending the tubing, instead of using elbow fittings, we were able to provide increased flow to the hose reels with decreased back pressure in the supply line.

1. Automatic Lubrication Provides Optimal Lubrication
Proper maintenance of equipment prolongs the life of components, increasing performance and productivity and reducing repair costs. Accurate, dependable lubrication is the most critical preventive maintenance step in preserving the life and productivity of any fleet.
Too little lubrication creates heat and wear, while too much can create drag, heat and wear, and damaged seals.
Ideal machine and vehicle performance requires maintaining a minimal l**e film to separate the moving surfaces under all speeds and loads. However, for metering devices in modern automatic lubrication systems, this is an easy task.

2. Automatic Lubrication Is Environmentally Friendly
Environmental concerns are another factor. First, a well-lubricated machine is more energy efficient. This benefits the environment as well as the bottom line.
