Les Bouquets

A few quiet moments from the last week or so. I arranged some blue and white flowers for a bridal shower at last weekend and then made some bright, spring inspired arrangements for a 70th birthday party. I had a a handful of flowers leftover and made a wild lil’ arrangement to enjoy at home - need to bring home flowers more often!🌷

Forgot to mention a little life detail here — I got married this summer. It was breathtakingly special for us both. We were able to host the reception at Henry’s grandfather’s home on the border of England and Wales, and the ceremony was down the street at the Parish Church of St. Michael.

It was such a beautiful collection of talent and teamwork, and I have so much to say about how it all miraculously came together. But because this is the Les Bouquets account, I must mention the flowers first! Many of you know my mom, Melinda, so it comes as no surprise that she did double duty as mother of the bride and personal florist. She gracefully followed my very vague direction for the flowers: I knew I wanted a bit of coral and lavender for my colors and asked her to keep things simple.

In the week leading up to the wedding, she got to work converting the empty horse stable into a little floral studio, and we went around the house gathering every pitcher, jug, and wee vase we could find to use for the table arrangements. Conveniently, there’s a small flower farm down the road from the house, so she made fast friends with them and also mixed in some flowers picked from the garden. She is truly incredible, and I’m so lucky to have her as my mom. It’s all such a dream.
