This month at the Okefenokee Heritage Center Art Gallery: Swamp Art, a collection of photos, paintings, wood carvings and more, all celebrating our beloved Okefenokee Swamp.

The exhibit includes this pair of AHA! originals, “Final Approach” and “Attentive.”

Waycross and Ware County Georgia Happenings

Sights, scenes and other spectacles from this past weekend’s Swamptown Getdown music festival, with host Uncle Dave Griffin, performers including The Pine Box Dwellers, Glass Camels, Tru Phonic and Sunnyside Duo, and many colorful characters, human and otherwise.

It’s not everyday you run into a musician-iguana duo, so it was great to meet , aka Mitch Cottingham and Gingerbread, at the Swamptown Getdown this evening.

Splendid sunset views over the Satilla River, looking west-northwest from over U.S. 84 just outside Waycross.

One of the many fun aspects of drone photography is the ability to look straight down on a subject and find interesting compositions and patterns.

Here are some I’ve collected around Waycross, including a few from my flight over the Satilla River yesterday.

I love shooting live music. The energy, the body language, the facial expressions - it’s all so dynamic, and no two images are the same.

In this Swampfest scene during Little Satilla’s set, I was playing around with the big spotlight as a means to frame the band, or in this case, the drummer, Scott Jacobs. It’s no award winner, but I kind of like how it turned out.

All four bands on Swampfest Main Stage were 🔥this weekend. Great work by Swingin' Medallions, The Tams, Little Satilla and Derrick Flowers Music!
