๐ WEEK 5โ Your Past Does Not Define You
A history of addiction does not define who someone is or who they can become.
People in recovery are parents, coworkers, friends, neighbors, leaders, advocates, professionals, and so much more.
Recovery can bring new opportunities, restored relationships, meaningful careers, purpose, and chapters someone may have once thought were impossible.
๐ Your past is part of your story โ not the end of it.
Choose compassion. Choose understanding. Choose hope.

๐ธ๐ THEN & NOW | 55 YEARS OF UNISON
1997 โก๏ธ 2026
Nearly 29 years ago, Wendy Hodges joined Unison while pursuing her goal of becoming a substance abuse counselor. Since then, she has continued growing, learning, and servingโeventually becoming Program Manager of Garden Gate, a program she says holds a special place in her heart.
Through all the changes she has witnessed, Wendy says one word describes Unison best: HOPE.
As we celebrate 55 years of Unison, we celebrate Wendy and the longtime employees who have dedicated so much of their lives to helping others grow, heal, and find hope. ๐๐ณ
Nearly 29 years. Countless lives touched. One incredible legacy.
๐ Stronger Than Yesterday: Victoriaโs Story ๐
Today, weโre honored to share the final story in our Stronger Than Yesterday seriesโand it is one filled with courage, motherhood, determination, and hope.
Victoria reached a turning point when she faced the possibility of losing her children. That painful moment led her to enter inpatient treatment and begin the recovery journey that would change her life.
Recovery was not easy, but her children became her greatest source of strength. During the difficult days, they reminded her why she started and gave her a reason to keep goingโeven when moving forward felt hard.
Victoriaโs journey shows that asking for help is not a sign of weakness. It is an act of courage. By accepting support, taking recovery one day at a time, and refusing to give up, she began rebuilding her life and becoming the mother and woman she knew she could be.
Today, Victoria uses her lived experience to connect with and encourage others. She understands what it feels like to struggle, to need support, and to wonder whether life can truly change. Her story is proof that it can.
As we close this series, we are incredibly grateful to Victoria and each mother who courageously shared her journey. Their honesty helps reduce stigma, creates meaningful conversations, and reminds others that they are not alone.
This is Victoriaโs story. ๐
If you or someone you know is struggling, Unison is here to help. Call 1-800-342-8168.
Real stories. Real mothers. Real recovery. Real hope. Stronger Than Yesterday.

๐โจ CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR 2026 SHINE GRADUATES! โจ๐
Please join us in celebrating an incredible group of Unison employees who have officially completed their year in the SHINE Program! ๐๐
SHINE is all about leadership, growth, connection, and learning more about the many different pieces that make Unison who we are. Throughout the program, participants get a firsthand look at services and programs across our agencyโoften discovering sides of Unison they may not experience in their everyday roles.
For example, team members who primarily work in Behavioral Health get the opportunity to learn more about our IDD services, and vice versa. It gives participants a whole new perspective on the amazing work happening across Unison and the people who make it possible every day. ๐
SHINE is also an opportunity to grow professionally, strengthen leadership skills, build relationships across the agency, and take meaningful steps toward future career and leadership goals.
๐ Congratulations to our newest SHINE graduates:
Danita Harper โข LeDora Inman โข Jessica Lott โข Sarah Mercer โข Beth Murray โข Jeannie Murray โข Karen Pentz โข Kayla Ramos โข Deanna Wade-Crews
We are so proud of each of you for investing in your growth and completing this journey! Help us give our SHINE graduates a BIG congratulations! ๐๐๐

๐๐ WEโRE HONORED TO BE RECOGNIZED! ๐๐
Unison Behavioral Health is proud to have been recognized by Global Partnership for TeleHealth at the Georgia Rural Health Association (GRHA) Conference for our telehealth efforts, including our partnership with the Ware County School System! ๐ซ๐ป
Our school-based telehealth programs help us do exactly what we believe inโmeeting people where they are. By bringing behavioral health services directly into schools, we can help students access the support they need while also reducing time away from the classroom and supporting better attendance. ๐
A huge THANK YOU to all of the school systems that welcome Unison into their schools and allow us to work alongside their students, families, counselors, and staff. These partnerships truly make a difference!
And a special shoutout to Millie with the Ware County School District for being such an incredible partner and collaborator. Thank you for everything you do to help make this program successful! ๐๐
๐ And we want to give a very special THANK YOU to our Telehealth Coordinator, Camille Conley! ๐
Camille is such an important part of the success of our telehealth program. Her dedication, coordination, hard work, and commitment to making telehealth accessible to the communities we serve are truly invaluable. Without Camille, our telehealth program would not be what it is today! We are incredibly thankful for everything she does behind the scenes and for the passion she brings to this work every day. ๐๐
We are grateful for the recognition, but even more grateful for the opportunity to continue breaking down barriers and making behavioral health services more accessible throughout the communities we serve.
Weโre here to meet people where they are. ๐
