Ag Operations Specialist
About Us:
Fairview Ag is rooted in Waverly, IA, providing top-tier agricultural services to our local farming community. We run high-quality, state-of-the-art machinery and pride ourselves on doing the job right for our customers.
The Role:
We are looking for a versatile, hardworking professional to join our team. If you are just as comfortable running modern farm machinery out in the field as you are turning wrenches in the shop, this position is for you. We need someone who can tackle a diverse set of day-to-day operations to keep everything running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
-Operate and maneuver high-clearance sprayers and other heavy ag equipment.
-Perform hands-on mechanical work, including routine maintenance, diagnosing issues, and repairing farm machinery.
-Handle custom application duties, accurately mixing and applying products during the busy seasons.
-Adapt to shifting daily priorities, jumping from field operations to shop work as needed.
What We’re Looking For:
Proven mechanical aptitude with experience turning wrenches on diesel or agricultural equipment.
Experience operating heavy ag machinery.
A strong problem-solving mindset and a willingness to tackle a variety of operational tasks.
Custom Applicator License and/or a Class A or B CDL are a major plus (or the willingness to obtain them).
Strong work ethic with the ability to work extended hours during the busy spring and summer seasons.
Benefits:
- Opportunity for personal and professional growth within the company
-Competitive, steady pay
-Paid time off (PTO)
-Potential to add health insurance and retirement plan compensation packages
At Fairview Ag, we are utilizing individual row by row pressure control and shutoffs with Capstan Ag Systems, Inc. Pinpoint III. Paired with John Deere RTK boundaries, we are able to only target the areas of the field that have a growing crop while not having to out line waterways and run over unnecessary crop.

Spent some time today learning about the Greeneye Technology spot spraying system, and we came away genuinely impressed.
The system uses AI-powered cameras to identify weeds in real time and activates individual spray nozzles only where treatment is needed. Instead of blanket-spraying an entire field, it makes plant-by-plant decisions at operating speeds.
The potential benefits are significant: reduced herbicide use, lower input costs, improved sustainability, and better data for future management decisions. It's a great example of how precision agriculture is transforming farming through practical, real-world applications of artificial intelligence.
Technology like this isn't just changing how we spray fields—it's changing how we think about crop management.
Thank you to the Greeneye Technology team for spending the time to answer our questions and teach us about this important technology.

More trials going in today as we continue evaluating several in-furrow options. Treatments include starter fertilizers, micronutrient packages, phosphorus efficiency products, and plant growth promoters.
Looking forward to comparing emergence, early vigor, root development, and overall season-long performance across each program.

Today we’re putting in another trial for the 2026 growing season — liquid vs. dry strip-till.
Huge thanks to the team at SoilWarrior for all their help getting this machine set up and helping us learn the ins and outs of it. The machine is incredibly user-friendly and built like a tank.
We’re excited to put it to work and see how the results compare this season. Stayed tuned!

We kicked off our in-furrow product trials today—15 different treatments, all being independently 3rd-party tested. We’re excited to see how they perform and look forward to sharing the results with you this fall.
Happy planting!
