July 22, 2022 River Watch Situation Report
NO SIGNIFICANT CHANGES FROM LAST REPORT
The MSB has experienced low level flooding in several areas around the Borough. These conditions are unusual for this time of year, and are expected to return next month during our normal wet season.
Property owners along the Little Su River, the Big Su River in Talkeetna and Willow Creek should be advised that the forecast for the next few days calls for intermittent rain storms and rising water levels.
For the residents currently affected in these geographically identified areas you should have an evacuation plan. If leaving your home, remember to include any items like medications and important documents. Include provisions for animals in your care. You may have to leave with little or no notice.
Driving through flood waters is not advised. Anyone planning recreational activities on or near waterways should monitor the conditions closely and operate with extreme caution.
The National Weather Service flood advisory has been cancelled; this will be our last public notification unless conditions change.
