✨Well, it turns out that everyone loathes AI.✨When I first started playing with science fiction images for posts, I thought it was a fantastic idea!✨After all, I wasn’t taking anyone’s job. ✨Previously, I was using stock images to make my shareable quotes, anyhow. ✨As far as ethics go, I made sure to make it clear that the art displayed was robot art, which from my perspective is completely on brand.✨I have a lot to say about AI within the publishing community.✨However, I thought this was an appropriate use of tech.✨So, what changed?✨

✨Well, first off, (haha) everyone hated it.✨There is some serious robot-phobia and Luddite fueled fears raking artist communities. ✨I get it, we’re scared of losing our jobs or being forced to work like machines.✨Honestly, (and we can discuss this in depth later via lives and comments and DMs) I think that it’s going to separate real art from the corporate churned out fluff and click bate, but we can cover that in depth later. ✨What really did it for me was when my dear, childhood companion kindly alerted me that AI is killing our planet.✨So, peer pressure didn’t work, but uh… discovering the amount of resources running AI wastes left me floored.✨For example, the energy consumption and carbon emissions are comparable to running hundreds of American households.✨The water consumption is even worse. (500 ml for every 20-50 questions asked). ✨

✨How does this affect my platform?✨Well, I’m going to make more art. ✨I, uh, have absolutely no formal training with drawing and painting, but I like to f*** around and craft. ✨So, in lieu of these fun dystopian landscapes, um, you’ll get clumsy art as I attempt to create things I like.✨Chances are that most of the videos and photos will remained zoomed in for everyone’s aesthetic benefit. ✨I am still going to add quotes, but chances are I am going to participate more through streaming and reels. ✨It’s my intention to create live streams where you can ask me writing questions while I … idk throw paint and glitter and decoupage my way toward creating my sci-fi, dystopian space fantasies. ✨

I am not going to lie, my hiatus from SM brought clarity, and I know, I KNOW, they drill into us writers and creators to post consistently, but I don’t have the heart for it all the time. It becomes this meaningless chore, a stressor point stealing away from the real work. I’m back for now, but if I fall off again... 🫶🏻😩 Forgive me.
