Exploring design + sharing travel inspiration while restoring my historic Capitol Hill row house.
Front porch season in Capitol Hill is one of my favorite parts of outdoor living in DC.
I’ve styled the porch to feel like an extension of my historic row home: relaxed, layered and comfortable, with a few pieces that make it easy to sit outside, people-watch and enjoy the front garden.

After a spring in DC that felt like a dream, I found myself chasing blooms a little farther this year.
I’ve always wanted to see the tulip fields in bloom, so when a friend invited me to visit her new home in the Netherlands, I couldn’t book flights fast enough.
A perfect change of scenery (but maybe a little too much pollen 🤧).
Feeling inspired after a few weeks in Europe, mixing work, time with friends and a short holiday, and still thinking about our Spanish getaway to Montserrat. One of the trip highlights was a stay at , a 15th-century farm turned boutique hotel that felt both restorative and magical.
I’m already looking for ways to incorporate some of the Spanish accents we loved into our home and guesthouse, and I’ll be sharing new travel guides soon with recommendations, trip notes and a shortlist of where we found unique gifts and home décor pieces worth bringing back.
Save this for a future Spain trip, and stay tuned for more from Europe soon.

A closer look at the details in our English basement apartment, which we use as a guesthouse.
Warmer finishes, collected objects, fresh styling and small details help make this space feel more personal and like an extension of the house above it.

Fresh from the garden.
A closer look at our guest suite, inspired by stays at our favorite resort, , with soft neutrals, bold artwork and layered texture.
This space also includes a window-lined room that originally served as the upper level of our home’s sleeping porch when it was built in 1919. Now, we use it as a home office when friends and family aren’t visiting, and it has some of the best views in the house.

Nothing new, just a light spring refresh of our living room with clippings from the garden and a rotation of favorite books and objects to brighten things up a bit.

Between this heat wave in D.C. and the light in our guest suite, it’s taking serious discipline not to disappear for an afternoon nap.
Having a space that’s always ready for out-of-town friends and family is essential for us, and we’ve taken inspiration from stays at our favorite resort, , with soft neutrals, bold artwork and simple layers.
I’m working on a full rundown of this space with sourcing and details to share soon, including the no-drill wood shades I found on Amazon (under $50!) that have quickly become a favorite. Linked in bio if you’re impatient like me.
