For this Women to Watch Wednesday, we’re featuring Lorey Zlotnick — a 2006 JWI Woman to Watch and CMO & Brand Architect at Zequity Marketing.

Her personal mantra: “Evolve or die.”

The book that stayed with her: Involuntary Exit by Robin Merle, which explores “the emotional reality of losing a job—not just the practical impact, but the identity shift that comes with it.”

She appreciates Brené Brown’s work “because of the way she dissects emotions with such precision.”

Her unusual skill: reading copy upside down, thanks to a journalism professor who believed “sometimes the real story is sitting in plain sight—just from a different perspective.”

What she loves most about female friendships starts with her sisters, who are also her best friends. The women in her life, she says, are “my biggest supporters and my most trusted reality check.”

What’s inspiring her now: friends and colleagues “reinvent themselves in the second half of their careers,” the Jewish community choosing “connection over fear,” and powerful women who are “solid anchors and builders of community.”

In observance of Tisha B’Av, Show Up: Bringing Your Full Self to Work will now take place on Tuesday, July 21. The event will be kosher.

JWI’s Jewish Women in the Workplace: Navigating Identity, Ambition & Belonging is a three-part series of interactive workshops created in response to findings from JWI’s recent national survey on young Jewish-American women and antisemitism post-October 7.

The first session will help participants think through the everyday decisions around Jewish identity, visibility, professionalism, and workplace culture — including how to show up at work without compromising your values or sense of self.

Join us in NYC for the workshop and networking reception, or participate virtually by livestream with Q&A by chat.

The speaker lineup includes Gayle Abrams, Lauren Leyden, and Laura Rebell Gross, with Meredith Jacobs, JWI CEO, moderating.

Antisemitism at work can raise questions that are hard to answer alone.

JWI’s Jewish Women in the Workplace: Navigating Identity, Ambition & Belonging is a three-part series of interactive workshops created in response to findings from JWI’s recent national survey on young Jewish-American women and antisemitism post-October 7.

The first session, Show Up: Bringing Your Full Self to Work, takes place July 22 in New York City and includes a workshop and networking reception.

The speaker lineup includes Gayle Abrams, Lauren Leyden, and Laura Rebell Gross, with Meredith Jacobs, JWI CEO, moderating.

Women in their 20s and 30s are invited to participate, connect with peers, and access JWI’s national mentorship and networking platform.

Young Jewish women told us they want networking and mentorship opportunities with Jewish women leaders across industries. This series is one way JWI is responding.

Women with career experience to share are encouraged to attend, offer perspective, and connect with peers who care about Jewish women’s success at work.

The next two workshops are planned for the fall.
