I matched the inspo pic a little too well… and forgot what my client actually said. She wanted a soft, blended blonde — but didn’t want as much dimension through the ends. And guess what I did? Dragged lowlights all the way down. The result? A gorgeous blonde that was just… darker than what she asked for. She reached out kindly (love her), and we agreed to get her back in the chair. Even as an educator, I still make mistakes. The key is owning it and learning from it — not hiding it. Part 2 is where the real transformation happens — wait until you see how we brought the brightness back.
Welcome to the client redo redemption arc. After dragging too much depth through her ends in the first round, I brought her back in and focused on tipping out the previously lowlighted ends. We kept the dimension at the root + mids, but gave her the brightness she originally wanted through the bottom. I share this because these moments matter. It’s not about being perfect — it’s about getting it right.
