Diana, a mother from Jabalia in northern Gaza, has been displaced seven times since 2023. Her family used to lived comfortably, supported by her husband's work with a respected organization. But when they lost their home and their source of income, they were left among the many families struggling to survive.
Amidst displacement and loss, her son began to suffer from a painful skin condition. Blistering sores covered his body, oozing blood and fluid. His skin was severely swollen. Despite repeated visits to nearby clinics in Zawayda, where they were camped following displacement, his condition showed no signs of improvement.
Relief came when Diana received a message inviting her to visit Anera’s primary healthcare center in Nuseirat, supported by Choose Love. “I wouldn’t hesitate to knock on any door if I could help my son,” she says.

Anera's Woman Can program provides budding entrepreneurs with hands-on training, business skills, and mentorship to help them grow their businesses. The program focuses on women who face an extra layer of challenges, such as being a refugee, a single mothers, and unemployed, to ensure they have the chance to expand by funding their businesses.
For women like Sameera, entrepreneurship means sustainability and creating opportunities for herself and others. Sameera lives in Baqa’a Camp in Jordan, where employment opportunities are scarce, so innovation is key. She turns old clothes and fabric scraps into handmade products such as tote bags, traditional dresses, and cushion covers. By recycling materials and preserving traditional designs, she built a small business while also creating income opportunities for other women in her community.

On Lebanon’s southern border, the town of Ain Ebel has faced months of conflict, isolation and fuel shortages that threatened access to electricity for its residents.
Despite ongoing escalations, Anera successfully installed a solar energy system to support the town’s local electricity network. The result is a more reliable, sustainable and resilient source of power to the community.
This project is part of Anera’s solar revolving fund, an innovative model designed to help municipalities invest in renewable energy while creating opportunities for more communities across Lebanon to benefit from similar solutions.

With generous support from Direct Relief, Anera provided a total of 2,853 vials of Erythropoietin, sufficient to support 150 patients in need of dialysis for two to three months. These treatments have reached two Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) supported hospitals: Al Hamshari Hospital in Ain el Hilweh camp in Saida and Safad Hospital in Tripoli.
Erythropoietin is an essential medication that stimulates red blood cell production and is crucial for patients with anemia associated with chronic kidney disease. Without it, patients are at risk of severe fatigue, cardiovascular complications, hospitalization, and interruption of dialysis treatment.
At a time when health services for Palestinian refugees are under severe strain due to medication shortages and rising treatment costs, this intervention helps stabilize dialysis services and prevents life-threatening treatment interruptions for one of the most vulnerable patient groups in Lebanon.
Anera recently launched the Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) training program, in the presence of the Minister of Public Health, Dr. Rakan Nassereddine.
Nine doctors from the emergency and intensive care departments at Rafik Hariri University Hospital, Baabda Governmental Hospital, and Sibline Governmental Hospital are undergoing training to introduce POCUS technology to patients.
POCUS technology is a qualitative tool that allows for the rapid detection of life-threatening conditions, reducing the time required for medical intervention in emergency and trauma cases, especially during times of sudden influx or high pressure.
This initiative is implemented with the support of the Ministry of Public Health, Anera, MedGlobal, and Mehad, advancing the integration of POCUS within Lebanon’s emergency care system.

Caring for a child recovering from injury or illness is always emotional. In Gaza, many parents face added fear and helplessness as the healthcare system is depleted and aid remains limited. One mother, Islam, shares what it has been like to care for her 14-year-old daughter after an appendix rupture. “I didn’t know how I could take care of her in this tent,” she says. “The sand gets everywhere. I was terrified I would hurt her.” Visit our website to learn how Anera, with support from , helped provide relief for Tala and her family.
