Congress passed a last-minute budget agreement to avoid a shutdown, just in time to head home and celebrate a delicious Thanksgiving meal with their families. 🦃
But 7 million new parents and babies could be sitting around an empty table soon. 🍽️
WIC serves HALF of ALL new babies born in the US, but if Congress doesn’t provide more funding, growing families might be forced to wait in line for food and formula they rely on. This is not acceptable! 🤱🏽
This Thanksgiving, YOU can make a difference. Share our graphics with friends and family calling on Congress to act and so that new parents and babies don’t go hungry!

Millions of parents and kids rely on for access to healthy food. Congress must act now to fully and all ensure families have access to the resources they need to thrive. WIC is at risk of HUGE funding cuts for the first time in decades. We won't go back to waitlists for moms and babies: https://act.parentstogetheraction.org/letters/congress-keep-moms-babies-fed

"As much as some politicians would like us to believe that as parents, we're on our own to raise our children, the reason that millions of American families are in crisis right now isn't because they are bad parents, or have made bad decisions—it's because the Republican Party has targeted parents and families for a generation."
-Our Executive Director, Ailen Arreaza, in Newsweek
Our Kids Are in Crisis and the GOP Is Set on Making It Much, Much Worse A crisis is unfolding for American families. Last month, new census numbers revealed that the number of children in poverty more than doubled last year, from 4 million to 9 million. And unfortunately, this month it will get even harder.

The U.S. is one of only six countries in the world without a national paid leave policy. One in four women have returned to work within two weeks of giving birth. 🤯 Families don't have the time they need to care for themselves or their loved ones.
We're teaming up with Glamour, Paid Leave for All, and Caring Across Generations to grow a nationwide campaign Congress can’t ignore. Join the movement to secure paid leave for ALL and sign on!

If Republicans shut down the government, funding for WIC (the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children) will quickly run out, leaving more than 7 million expecting and new parents, babies, and kids across the country without access to the food and formula they need to survive. It would impact OVER HALF of ALL the infants born in the U.S.!
Taking away healthy food from pregnant people, new parents, babies, and kids is unacceptable. Let's ramp up the pressure and make our voices heard.
Send a letter directly to your Representatives demanding that they prevent a government shutdown and !

1 in 2 families across America can't afford diapers to keep their babies clean and dry, while corporations like Pampers continue to rake in record profits.
Parents need on -- we're asking Pampers to live out their values and stop diaper price hikes, so families can make ends meet!

The clock is ticking on a $24-billion Covid-era lifeline that has kept many US child care centers open. ⏰
Without that funding from the end of September, parents - especially women - could be pushed out of the workforce and more than 3 million children could lose their childcare 🥺.

An advocate with ParentsTogether described the increase in WIC fruit and vegetable benefit as "hands down the most valuable part of WIC for my family. Between my always on-the-move baby, my 4-year-old, and my appetite as a breastfeeding mom, we devour fresh fruits and veggies as fast as we buy them," wrote Manasrah.
She lamented that House Republicans' proposal amounts to more than a 50% cut for children and an approximately 70% cut for adult participants— "that's barely enough to buy a carton of strawberries or blueberries!"
Experts Warn House GOP Bill Would Imperil Food Aid for 5.3 Million Kids and Postpartum Adults "We can't go back in time by letting even more families and babies in need go hungry!" said one mother. "I implore Congress to act now to ensure WIC receives the full funding it needs."
