Sourdough Discard Crackers
Ingredients
* 1 cup sourdough discard
* 1 cup all-purpose flour
* 4 tablespoons softened butter
* ½ teaspoon salt
* Optional seasonings: garlic powder, onion powder, rosemary, everything bagel seasoning, Parmesan cheese (we used a Italian herb oil)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. Mix the sourdough discard, flour, butter, and salt until a soft dough forms.
3. Roll the dough out very thin on a lightly floured surface or between two sheets of parchment paper.
4. Transfer to a baking sheet and score into cracker-sized squares with a pizza cutter.
5. Sprinkle with your favorite seasonings.
6. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until lightly golden and crisp.
7. Allow to cool completely before breaking apart.
For extra flavor, brush the top with a little melted butter before baking and sprinkle with flaky sea salt. These crackers pair wonderfully with cheese, dips, or homemade soups. 🧈🥨

Some days the ducks make me laugh, some days they make me work, but every day I’m grateful to have them here on the homestead.
Feeling thankful for these feathered friends today. 🦆❤️

Rabbit on the pit and patience doing the rest. There’s something special about gathering around the smoke and letting tradition feed the table.
Would you try rabbit cooked over an open BBQ pit? 👇

Meet Emberly 💙
We welcomed Emberly to our family on Saturday, and our hearts (and pasture) got a little fuller. This sweet adopted girl is officially part of the homestead, and we’re so excited for the journey ahead.
Here’s to new beginnings, soft nickers, and muddy hoofprints. 🐴✨

Built, not bought 🔥🐖
This homemade smoker—complete with a “piggy stove”—was crafted right here on the homestead using recycled materials. Turning scraps into something functional (and delicious) is what it’s all about. From waste to worth, and soon… from smoker to supper.
Nothing fancy, just good old-fashioned ingenuity and a whole lot of flavor in the making.

We’ve got Californian kits on the homestead 🐰
These fast-growing rabbits are being raised with care as part of our sustainable meat program. Clean, efficient, and a great addition to the homestead.
We’ll be sharing updates as they grow out. 💜
