💁🏽‍♀️Paying your Quarterly Tax Estimates on time!

Yup, that's right!

Tomorrow on Jun 15th, taxes are due for the 2nd Quarter 👀..and here's how to get an estimate of what to pay (and as always, make sure you check with your accountant as well!)

Calculate your Gross Revenue - Expenses (from Apr 1st- May 31st)

Now, take 30% of your profit to pay your estimated tax!

And voila, you're all ready to pay your tax estimates and on your way to avoid some of those pesky fees!

Who pushes you past of your comfort zone?!

Last week, I had the opportunity to speak and share with the members! (AND btw if you're an Interior Designer in the DC area, please go check them out!)

But friend, can I just tell you that speaking falls WAY out of my comfort zone! And I do mean wayyy out of my comfort zone!

But this guy right here-> literally has been a constant encourager in my life and business to stay the course and not give in to my fear!

The night before the talk (after the kids went down to bed), my guy stood up with me and went thru the ENTIRE talk and slides.
..AND in case you are wondering, he did not hold back with critical feedback at the end!

Thanks for believing in me and supporting my dreams, Mr. Elvin Nova! I thank God for you and that I get to journey this life and business with you.

There was a time when I had no idea how to save money--> that I was EVEN capable of saving money... I always loved business and always knew I wanted to have my own business but the saving money thing... felt way out of my league!

How do you wind down after a busy week? 💆🏽‍♀️

Since we had amazing 70 degree weather this morning, I got to enjoy a nice walk 🚶🏾‍♀️w a friend this morning! (👈🏽 my all time favorite way to wind down)

The next, is baking! 🧁 I especially enjoy trying a new recipe that I suspect would taste delicious. 😋

And a goood movie after the kids go down 🎥 a tear-jerker or one that makes me belly life 👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾

Now that we are all relieved that January is over, NOW is the perfect time for a booooookkeeping check 👀
 
What if I told you that when you check your books and match (reconcile) your month end numbers to your bank, credit card statements, payment processing, etc, --> you can potentially catch errors that you wouldn't have otherwise.

Like, I'm talking about catching more expenses than your business actually does, or doubles of income that your business never made. 👀
It's true, my friend!

Reconciling the accounts not a very common practice that business owners do, but it is sooo ESSENTIAL for having accurate & squeaky-clean books.
 
And to help you out, here are 3 steps to take to make sure your books are reconciled AND accurate every month.

1️⃣ Check Your Financial Reports (the 1st, your Balance Sheet)- this Financial Report will list out all the balances for ALL your accounts, including your banks, loan balances, accounts receivable/payable, assets, etc.

2️⃣ Then grab your all your statements (bank, payroll, payment processing (like Stripe or Square).

3️⃣ Finally, check each number on your Balance Sheet against your statements side-by-side. And if they are off, start your investigating to find out why!

AND voila! You've got yourself a QC process for reconciling your books!

Now be sure to save this for later so you can conquer your business bookkeeping, too! 🔖

My daughter asked me this morning “mama, are we going to the beach?”

It felt very random 😄 considering we haven’t been to the beach 🏖 in so long! So I laughed and said “no, not this morning.” And while I definitely miss warmer days, I DO love the stillness of winter… AND might I add allll the excuses to bake! (which is one of our favooorrite activities 👩🏽‍🍳👧🏽)

So I heard 👀 that it was yesterday!!! Despite being a day late, I’m going to shout out my best friend, husband, the greatest papa for our babies, AND number one ☝🏽 supporter in my business and life!

I thank God for this treasure on spouse day and every day! ❤️

You guys- one of the things I LOVE about where I live (VA Beach 🏖 ) is that if there’s even a CHANCE of snow, the whole city shuts down. 👀

As a New York native, this was my childhood dreeeeam (to get enough snow where the schools would close). Of course, it would also need to be AT LEAST a foot or more. But here… it’s a whole different story (just check out the 2nd photo) 😄❤️ plus your girl always loves an invitation for a slower pace (especially during 😅)
