⚠️Every year, we see the dark side of Christmas adoptions. Cats being returned, or worse, abandoned, because their owners grew tired of caring for them when the novelty wore off. 😿

📝 We don’t adopt cats out as gifts at any time of the year - all family members are required to meet the kitty to ensure there’s a purrfect match, and to make sure everyone is on board!

🚫If you and your loved ones aren't prepared for a long-term responsibility, but you want something cute, warm, and fluffy - buy some fuzzy slippers or a cozy blanket instead!

I know it's been quiet on our page since the loss of our sweet Sesame, Jupiter, and Jelly Bean, to what is usually nothing more than a cold virus, that quickly turned into pneumonia, because of their fragile immune systems.
Needless to say, it was devastating and we have all been dealing with the loss of those sweet kittens, whom we spent weeks loving, nurturing, and meticulously caring for.
However, rescue work doesn't stop, and we were absolutely desperate to keep the rest of the litter healthy and alive!

The great news is Cosmos, Mars, and Cheddar Cheese are thriving, playful, funny, sweet, kittens ❤️❤️❤️
They are "out of the woods," as is their calico friend, Buttercup.

Thank you for your amazing support, donations, and kindness. These kittens will be available for adoption SOON and just before Christmas. We think they're Christmas miracles at this point 🎄🎄❤️❤️🎅🎅

😔😔Unfortunately we have sad news to share:

And for those of you who are new to this page and the challenges of neonatal kitten rescue, I will preface this with the biggest hurdle we face: Once newborn/ neonatal kittens are separated from their Mothers, they only have a 50% chance of survival... and that's IF they are healthy, and they get to an experienced rescuer, within 2-4 hours of their last feed from mama cat. Their chances drop significantly and quickly from there.
We love and pour all our knowledge and energy into every kitten we care for. It never gets easier.

😔😔We lost our tiny runt, Sesame Seed and his bother Jupiter to pneumonia 😔😔. It has been a very difficult 72 hours for all of us here.
Now our sweet Jelly Bean is also displaying signs of pneumonia, and is in our kitten NICU on oxygen, receiving breathing treatments, IV fluids, and on aggressive meds to help him fight. His chances are slim but we have the guidance and support of great Veterinarian and we are doing absolutely everything we can to get him through this.
This is the hardest part of neonatal kitten rescue. Without their Mother's milk, they just don't have great immunity or the ability to fight off the small things that other kittens would normally bounce right back from. In this case it was a run of the mill, respiratory virus... Much like a common cold. 😔

They are all on antibiotics and receiving extra support and care to stop/ prevent further issues.
