Reading Peter's 1st letter this morning, thought-provoking. It pushes a changed lifestyle as a believer. Then I was reading Pastor Erwin Lutzer's article on 5 faults in the church one being "permissive grace". Permissive grace meaning you can be a Christian w/o a changed lifestyle. This caused me to ponder a bit.
Christianity has a broad spectrum of beliefs, but Christ has to be the center of all of them. The Cross and Christ crucified are the bases for the forgiveness of one's sin. His resurrection and ascension are the bases for ones' new life in Christ. The Holy Spirit and its power is the key to living out / fulfill our destiny in God's Kingdom.
To understand, as a Believer, we have a call to do great things for God. Paul writes "God has works for us to do which were fashioned at the creation of the world". Peter talks about "when they give an account to Him who is ready to judge the living and the dead". There is no room for permissive grace.
Once there was a TV show called "To Tell the Truth", in the end, the real person stood up from the two impostors. So it will be at the end of time, the real Christians will stand up from among all of the impostors. There is no room for permissive grace.
Choose life by committing to Jesus, not a church or style of worship, but Christ. Ask Him to change you so can say I'm a Christian and know it

President Trump at the State of the Union:

"Let us work together to build a culture that cherishes innocent life. And let us reaffirm a fundamental truth: all children -- born and unborn -- are made in the holy image of God." -President Donald Trump

I see more churches / denominations are caving into the culture by taking anti-Biblical positions. Jesus spoke to this in Revelation 2 & 3 when He called out the churches saying “you left your first love”; “you hold the doctrine of Balaam”; “you tolerate Jezebel”; “you are dead”; “you are neither cold nor hot, but lukewarm”.
In every case Jesus gave opportunity to repent, saying “if you have ears to hear listen to the what the Spirit says”. Lastly in each case He said “if you don’t repent, I will remove you from God’s sight”.
If you are in one of those churches, I encourage you to leave. Find a good Bible believing, Bible preaching church where there is love and not legalism. A God Chaser

Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. Psalm 119:11 A God Chaser

"The name of the Lord is a Strong Tower and the righteous run into it and they are safe."

For those who know the Old Testament and S***m and Gomorrah, can America be far behind? A God Chaser

As a God chaser, one wanting a deeper relationship with Him, the first thing I find / see are my failings and faults as a Believer. And I am humbled.

…’Until we come to truly understand that the church is not an earthly institution, but the representative of the divine kingdom of God, we will continue to make the same mistakes we have always made. The mission of the church is to proclaim the Gospel message, and to make disciples. We keep making the mistake of thinking that the defining social and political issues of the culture wars are what drive the Gospel. They tend more to be hindrances. That does not mean the church cannot address social and political issues. It means that social and political issues should never detract from the mission. Why is that? The root of the problems that manifest themselves in social and political struggles is addressed in the message of the Gospel.
The lack of true knowledge of God in the land means that the church is not teaching the people who God truly is. Or worse, the church is not representing the true God to the country. At the root of unrighteousness is the lack of knowledge of the requirements of our righteous God.”
“…It is a good thing to look critically at ourselves, and what we have become as a church that ought to represent a Righteous, Holy God who says to be righteous because he is righteous. The wise man says "Righteousness exalts a nation." Non-believers cannot be righteous, so it is the people of God, the church, who must rise to that righteousness and lift our country from the pit of immorality and destruction. The church has to practice righteousness. Not every person will receive the message of the Gospel and be saved, but a righteous church will save the country.” The Christian Post by Rev. Mark Creech

Watching an old Johnny Carson this AM and Bruce Jenner was a guest. He mentioned college in Iowa, so I Googled and found he went to Graceland on a football scholarship. He presented himself well, articulate, handsome, and intelligent. Wikipedia said he was a Conservative, Republican, Christian. But he transgendered to Caitlin, I wonder "Is he really happier" and "What about the Great White Throne Judgment?"

Jesus said "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, so that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."

Being a Christian is becoming more like Christ every day,it's a journey. Once you are "Born Again" you are saved, but to retain salvation you must work out your salvation with fear and trembling. (Paul said that)

Everyday we are faced with choice to become more like Christ or to sink into the culture of the world. I think of Joshua who said "Choose this day who you will serve, as for me and my house we will serve the Lord." That's the challenge. Pastor Loel

Just finished re- reading this book by Victoria Fink. It is an excellent read for anybody, not just those who have been s*xually abused. We all have things from our past that need to be redeemed, so we can be all we are meant to be, do all we are meant to do, and fulfill our destiny in Christ. (available thru Amazon)

North Korea has the most human slaves in the world, according to the 2018 Global Slavery Index, with research showing it is keeping over 2.6 million people in modern day slavery.
The country with the second highest prevalence of modern slavery is the African nation of Eritrea, described as "a repressive regime that abuses its conscription system to hold its citizens in forced labor for decades."
Rounding out the top 10 are Burundi, the Central African Republic, Afghanistan, Mauritania, South Sudan, Pakistan, Cambodia and Iran.
Among the nations in the top 10, most are some of the worst persecutors of Christians as well.

“Many in the charismatic movement today are being led away from Jesus, not by s*x, booze and drugs, but by an unhealthy fascination with signs, wonders and miracles. “Believers are not to follow signs; signs are to follow believers. Mark 16:15 says, "And these signs will follow those who believe." Believers are to follow Jesus and let the signs follow where they will. The devil can perform signs and if we are following signs, we are headed for trouble.

"Nigeria is now the deadliest place in the world to be a Christian," explained attorney Emmanuel Ogebe. "What we have is a genocide. They are trying to displace the Christians, they are trying to possess their land and they are trying to impose their religion on the so-called infidels and pagans who they consider Christians to be."

Two weeks ago, 238 people were killed in a village massacre in north-central Nigeria. Six of Ogebe's relatives were among the victims.

"From what we have been able to piece together, the husband and his pregnant wife, he tried to take her out of the house to safety and come back for the kids," recalled Ogebe. "But they ran into the herdsmen along the way and they shot him and his pregnant wife and they went into their home and they killed their 4-year-old son and their 6-year-old daughter who were asleep in their beds."

He said the Muslim attackers also killed two relatives who were visiting the family during summer break.

Ogebe said he was told that authorities would not allow the corpses of his relatives to be taken away for separate burial. Instead, they were buried in a mass grave with the other victims.

To go to Heaven one must follow Jesus here on earth. To do this one must read the Bible so they know what He says. It is not that hard, read the words in red and ask the Holy Spirit to help you. I dare say to ignore this is to miss Heaven. Choose Life - Jesus.

"Grace" from God comes through a relationship with God. A relationship with God comes through Jesus. A relationship with Jesus comes through a New Birth, a Supernatural experience by the Holy Spirit. This New Birth (Spiritual Life) opens the door to experience the multifaceted Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit comes to Comfort, Guide, Teach, Correct, Witness, He brings Gifts and His Fruit. Kingdom Dynamics

The only language that God’s hears and responds to is His Word: “So shall My Word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.” Isaiah 55:11

The only language Satan hears and responds to is God’s Word. Jesus rebutted Satan the same way three times “it is written” followed by the Word. Matthew 4:1-11

The only language the Holy Spirit responds to is God’s Word. Eph 6:17 ...the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God and “Thy Word is truth, sanctify them in truth.” John 17:17

If we don’t pray God’s Word we are praying “our will” be done. Our will is either emotional or intellectual and gives us what we feel or think is a solution.

Jesus taught us to pray “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done.” So we must study His Word to cultivate a relationship with God through Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit for a greater prayer life. This is because we are praying His (God’s) heart back to Him and “with God all things are possible” Matthew 19:26b. Choose Life -

Penned by Dixie Phillips from "Never a Child, Yet Always Cherished"

..."we all have a story to tell...yours may be different than mine, but remember God knows your story! It may be full of regret, but your story isn't over yet. When we are willing to give God the "pen" of our will, mercy will rewrite our lives. God can use our story for His honor and glory. Just like He has taken my "mess" and made a "mess" age, He will do the same for you. He will rewrite a different ending than what Satan had planned for you. He will heal your hurts and then use you to help bring healing to others. Your difficult childhood doesn't have the final say. Your present situation doesn't have the final say, Jesus has the final say over your life. You can't help how you started in life, but you do have a choice in how you finish."

The Dateless Past ©

In the dateless past, before time began, there existed a Power so great.

This Power could not be measured, it did not diminish, nor could anything overcome it. Even the sun, shining bright as it does, pales before the supremacy of this Power.

This Power, supreme in beauty, perfection, completeness, brought forth into existence ALL things. Everything that was created was called forth by the power of Its Word, and everything that was, is, or will be, is under Its authority.

It is God who is omnipresent, omnipotent, omniscient. He is everywhere. He is all powerful. He is all knowing. He loves You!

Morning thought: Thinking how disappointment can alter / derail us in our Spiritual journey. It maybe a small disappointment, but unattended it becomes bitterness. A big part of releasing bitterness is giving forgiveness: to God who you feel faulted you, yourself for being dumb or foolish, and then others. Jesus kind of hit on this when He said “forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.” Forgiving is freeing……Choose Life.

"The Frost King, hiding in the shadows of my soul, attempted to make another appearance and give his fatal frostbite. At my weakest moment..."

I want to share Jesus but first we have to understand there is a God and "Nobody comes to God unless they believe that He is and that He rewards those who diligently seek Him." which is Hebrews 11:6b.

A good summation of faith is found in what is called the Apostles Creed: "I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth. And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary; suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the Christian Church, the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting."

This is a Biblical world view, the cradle of Christianity and by God's standards non-negotiable. I agree. Choose Life

The Bible teaches we cannot overcome sin through personal ingenuity or effort. The solution is what God has done for us in Jesus Christ. The penalty for sin is death, judgment, and hell, but the good news is that God chose to pay this penalty in the life and death of his Son, (John 3:16-17; Acts 20:28; Rom 3:21-26; 5:6-10; 2 Cor 5:18,19; Col 2:13-15).

Sin in “religion” is violation of a moral code or a taboo. In a personal relationship with God it is breaking covenant or wounding His heart. Healing in a relationship is reconciliation, and the opposite of sin is not virtue, but faith.

The purpose of the Holy Spirit is to convict us of our sin, teach us the correct way, guide us into the paths of righteousness, help us be a good witness, and comfort us in this fallen world.

The challenge is to submit to Him as Savior, Baptizer, Healer and coming King. Choose Life
