Adopt Boomer! 🐾

This handsome bully boy is the ultimate adventure buddy and four-legged sidekick.

He loves hiking, road trips, swimming, wineries, cookouts, and pretty much anywhere his people are headed. He’s a dream in the car and just as happy snuggling on the couch afterward.

Boomer is affectionate, housetrained, crate trained, and has great house manners. He has a moderate energy level and enjoys walks but is still working on his leash skills. He can get excited when meeting other dogs, but with the right confident handler, he moderates and listens.

He has successfully lived with other dogs, but he does well as an only dog too. Our trainer recently watched Boomer for a few days while his foster family traveled, and she had him fully integrated into her pack of four dogs.

Worthy Dog will donate a free training session to his new family to help Boomer have a smooth transition.

Meet Penny! 🐾

This adorably little pup came to Worthy Dog Rescue when her owner was moving and could not take her. Thankfully, we had a foster home open, and Penny is now learning all about home life with an awesome family and their pack.

Penny was timid when she arrived, but she is coming out of her shell and doing well with the other dogs. She’s a playful puppy who loves to snuggle with her people and has plenty of typical puppy energy. She does like to chew, so her foster family keeps an eye on her and makes sure tempting things are out of reach.

She’s still shy with new people and needs a little time to feel comfortable. She is almost fully potty trained and knows to go potty outside, and she does well in her crate when she can see her people and sleeps through the night. When left alone, she gets nervous and drools, but she is not destructive in her crate.

Penny is a sweet, snuggly girl who just needs a patient family to help her continue building confidence. ❤️

Reintroducing Sadie! 🐾

Just a few weeks ago, Sadie’s entire world was a muddy outdoor pen where she lived in isolation without consistent food or fresh water. Her owner was frequently away, and Sadie was largely an afterthought.

Fast forward three weeks, and Sadie has discovered all the comforts of home, and she’s a big fan! She has proven to be a sweet, gentle girl and total love bug who follows her foster mom everywhere and flops over for belly rubs. She’s also great with other dogs and really enjoys the companionship of her foster sister, Solo.

Sadie is potty trained, walks well on a leash, takes treats gently, and has adapted beautifully to home life. New things and loud noises can make her a little nervous, but she recovers well and continues to gain confidence. She has a moderate energy level but is carrying some extra weight, likely from years with very little opportunity for exercise. As she gets healthier and more comfortable, we expect to see more of her playful side. She already loves to get wound up playing with toys!

After years of isolation, Sadie is finally safe, loved, making friends, chasing toys, and learning how good life can be.

Sadie has found her groove, and this is only the beginning. ❤️

Introducing Dolly! 🐾

This sweet, tiny Shihpoo mix has officially retired from breeding life, and she’s discovering how wonderful it is to be loved and cared for.

At just 6 lbs, Dolly has settled in quickly with her foster mom, Renee, and two other pups. She’s housebroken, crate trained, loves to cuddle, and would happily spend her day on your lap. If you stop petting her, she’ll let you know she wants more! 😂

Dolly is shy with new people and a little cautious around big dogs, but she’s making great progress. In just 10 days, she’s gone from being unsure of new people to meeting Renee’s three grandsons, ages 7 to 13, and letting them pet her and pick her up. She even played with her male neighbor and a toy when he came to visit.
She’s also discovering that outings can be fun. Her first trip to Walmart was a big success!

Dolly could be happy with other dogs or as your one and only. She’s looking for a patient family who will give her time to keep coming out of her shell.

After a life spent breeding, Dolly is finally learning what it means to be part of a family. And she’s pretty fabulous at it. ❤️

🐾 ADOPTION UPDATES! 🐾

Now that vacation season is winding down and school is back in session, adoptions are picking up! Congratulations to our handsome bully boy, Buster, our tiny dynamo, Diesel, sweet Maddie and Lainey, and our senior schnauzer, Murphy, who all found their forever homes and are settling in well. ❤️

Buster, who waited many months for his people, absolutely hit the jackpot. His new dad, Jerry, checked in with this awesome update:

“Buster truly is incredible. We both love him to death. He is so well mannered and loves everyone. He really is unbelievable. The entire neighborhood loves him, and he met the Boxer next door that we take care of when they travel, and the dogs had a blast playing together. He met our 4-year-old granddaughter and he was so good with her. He would sit down when she pets him. I know they will be lifelong friends. Right now he is just chilling with me in my office while I drink my coffee, then we’re off for a nice walk.”

We also heard from Diesel’s new mom, Maria, who let us know that this tiny 5 lb. little guy is already the leader and king of his new pack! He runs everywhere and is so fast, the other dogs can’t keep up. 😂

We are so thankful for these families who chose to adopt and give a pup in need the happy ending they deserve. This is what rescue is all about!
