✨ Adopt or Foster Charlie! ✨

This gorgeous ShihPoo with the stunning marbled coat was born with limited vision due to poor breeding and was listed on a Facebook rehoming page when his breeder couldn't sell him. Thankfully, one of our volunteers spotted the post and helped bring him safely into rescue.

While Charlie has limited vision, you'd never know it! We believe he can see light, shadows, and perhaps some basic shapes, but he primarily navigates the world using his incredible sense of smell and hearing. Nothing slows this happy boy down.

Charlie is thriving in his foster home with three children and a 60-pound Labradoodle who has become his best friend and favorite wrestling partner. At 19 pounds, he's packed with personality. His foster family describes him as funny, affectionate, fearless, and incredibly adaptable. He loves toys, loves people, loves dogs, and keeps everyone laughing with his goofy antics.

His foster mom, Katie, shared: "Charlie has been a true delight to foster. He's great with kids, loves his canine friends, and is packed with personality. Despite having limited vision, he navigates our home with ease and doesn't require any special accommodations. He's affectionate, funny, resilient, and impossible not to love."

Charlie is an adaptable, fun-loving boy who enjoys kids and would love a playful dog buddy. He doesn't let his limited vision hold him back, and neither should you.

🐾 Re-Introducing Scottie! 🐾

This handsome Labradoodle came from the same property as our recent doodle mixes, Henrietta and Steve. After their breeder owner was jailed, several dogs were left abandoned on the property. Animal Control removed the dogs, and Worthy Dog Rescue was asked to help.

Scottie spent much of his life outdoors with little veterinary care and arrived covered in ticks and slightly underweight. Thankfully, he's young, healthy, heartworm-negative, and has already been groomed, neutered, and brought up to date on his care.

Now settling into foster care, Scottie is showing everyone what a sweet boy he is. While still a bit timid, he's making great progress every day. He walks nicely on leash, has good house manners, and is learning to enjoy attention and affection.
Scottie absolutely loves other dogs and is friendly, playful, and adaptable with every dog he meets. He would do well as an only dog or paired with a confident canine companion to help him continue building confidence.

This gentle boy is looking for a patient, loving home willing to give him the time he needs to settle in and shine. We know his best days are ahead of him. ❤️

This tiny Yorkie nugget came to us after being surrendered by her family to a rural county shelter, something we're unfortunately seeing more often as families face difficult economic circumstances. We're so grateful we had space to bring Brooklyn into rescue and help her find the fresh start she deserved.

Today, Brooklyn is living her best life with Kim and Jay, devoted Yorkie lovers who have shared their home with three Yorkies over the years. Recently retired, they have plenty of time to spoil Brooklyn with walks, adventures, and lots of love.
Her new mom, Kim, shares:

"It's wonderful having dog energy back in the home. I can't wait to see her every morning! She is getting to know all the neighbors and dog neighbors on our walks. She has been a rock star in our neighborhood - even the mailman loves her! She recently met an 8-year-old girl up the street and did great, just licked her hand and stayed calm. She eats well, sleeps well, and loves being held. We take a 2.5-mile walk every day, plus several shorter walks. She would happily stay in my arms all day if she could. We've even taken her to the marina and hope she'll be sailing with us in the future."

🐾Reintroducing Shaggy - One of the Scooby Doo Pups🐾

Shaggy was found abandoned on Kelly Mountain in West Virginia alongside his mom and two brothers when he was just a baby. Thankfully, a Good Samaritan stepped in and gave the family a safe place to stay until rescue could be found. His mom and brothers have all found their forever homes, and now it's Shaggy's turn.

For the past few months, Shaggy has been thriving in foster care as part of a busy family that includes two children, two adult dogs, and frequent toddler visitors. He absolutely loves kids and is gentle, affectionate, and happiest when he's included in whatever his people are doing.

This sweet boy is crate trained, potty trained, sleeps through the night, and has left the baby puppy stage behind. He's affectionate, happy, and loves being around his people.

Like many young dogs, Shaggy is still working on his leash manners and social skills. He can be barky when meeting some new people or dogs, though it's intermittent and situation-dependent. A trainer who evaluated him feels he simply needs more exposure to new environments, people, and dogs outside the home to continue building confidence.

We think Shaggy would do best in a suburban home with another confident, social dog to be his playmate and role model. This boy is long overdue for a forever family to call his own. Apply today!

📣 FOSTER NEEDED 📣

Meet JoJo! 🐾 This super cute 8-month-old, 35-pound pup was seen roaming alone in Chester, SC, and thankfully, a kind-hearted Good Samaritan stepped in and helped her find rescue.

JoJo is now safe in foster care, and we've quickly learned that she is full of life, love, and puppy energy! She's very dog-friendly, loves to play, and has become best friends with her foster brother, Gavin. She would fit best in an active home with a playful canine companion. She is not a couch potato dog.

While she's still learning her manners, JoJo is doing great with potty training, is crate trained, and is a champion cuddler when she settles down. She's confident, curious, and discovering that the world is much bigger than she ever knew.

What we love most about JoJo is her zest for life. After an uncertain start, she finally has the chance to just be a puppy, and she's making the most of it.

We hope to bring JoJo to Northern Virginia on 6/20, but we need a foster or foster-to-adopt home to make that happen.
