My neighbor said she wanted to hide her trash cans. I shared my thoughts, she shared what she wanted. We built her a place to start her trash out of sight. She wanted spacing, we're thinking of some ways to make it a little more appealing than a wooden box. And she's going to paint it to match her house.

My new purse is finished. And when I started I really wasn't sure about my fabric choices, but now this purse is so fun!!! I'm excited!!! It turned out so good!!

Ah it's been awhile since I've sewn, and even longer since I've made a purse... I couldn't even find the pattern for the purse I wanted to make.... Look how fun this is going to be!!! Oh I'm so excited!!! And no, I am not matching up the patterns. I'm trying to make this out of just 2 yards of fabric (success!) and really I hate lining up prints, it can be so nerve racking.

My kids don't have a single baby blanket.... We aren't a blankey family. But they both had 4 baby blankets. One day my daughter said "Mom, can you make my blankets into one BIG blanket?" Yes! She's had hers for years and uses it everyday, it's her living room/TV blanket. I've finally finished my son's blanket. These end up being HEAVY! He's excited and loves the fish. They are hard to work with, they are not perfectly made... There was blood, sweat, tears, and swearing. It was all worth it since he's currently super excited about his blanket that mom made.

I am working on a mini library, and I'm not sure why I decided to go with such DARK COLORS. I'll finish it, but I really need to make another with light colors. I think if I can find a leather couch that I like this might work also, ok tried really hard to get the shelves straight and one column still ended up crooked.

I made a little scenery for the window, I need to make 2 more.

Oh and SPRAY PAINT DID NOT SPEED UP THE PROCESS! ugh!

I am making this as a really quick post... Because I'm trying to do a dozen things right now (Texas doesn't do cold weather well).

I have read half of these book, I've made a review one them. They are great! I am waiting to read the Winter Mask until Bee's Tail is released... And I haven't read Cassandra's Dragon yet.

But is a very skilled writer. I loved the depth and dynamic of her characters... The character development, which I'm a sucker for, was outstanding!!!! These stories pull you in. They have adventure, they have swoony romance! They are CLEAN!!!

The reason for my post... Right now the Carlson family is going through something that is emotionally hard, to put it simply... If reading someone's books, allowing their words and imagination to entertain you, could help and encourage them through a difficult time... Well, that's a no brainer for me.

If you like fantasy... Magic... Dragons... Amazing plots... Strong male and female leads. Then go check out D.E. Carlson's books. They are available on KindleUnlimited (I think Cassandra's Dragon you have to buy).

Ok, so I read a LOT of books. I also have 2 active kids who are always home, since we homeschool... I do other things, and I don't like audiobooks books... I don't like the breathy voices, and I HATE when they throw their voice to try and sound like the opposite gender or like a child.

I mainly read with Kindle Unlimited, and I use my phone... So this is an option available in the app. This is how I turn it on.
•Tap the page and top right corner you'll see the *Aa* click that.
•then you'll see the *More* click that.
•turn on the ASSISTIVE READER (I was calling it assertive reader, and really I find it more fitting, because when my house is loud and I turn the volume up on my earbuds it's very ASSERTIVE!)
•ALSO, if you turn on the *read time text highlighting* it will have a little highlight that jumps to each word as it reads so if you lose your place it's there.

The only downside, I have to keep my phone on the screen, it won't keep reading if I close out of the app. But I'm currently working on photo albums while I listen to a book.

Series: Heist of Hearts

This was the 2nd book that I read for 2026, and I posted the review, but since today is the actual release day... I thought that I'd post again.

ARC- CHANT OF CHEATS... This is the 3rd and final book in the series, Heist of Hearts and Oath of Odds being the first two in the series.

This was fantastic! There's a lot in here that literally would break someone... Grigg is really put through it, and will he survive the changes? If ever a book series was wrapped up so well and completely... Chant of Cheats does it.

All three books will have you cheering, raging, swooning, and perhaps crying. Winters is true to her word when she says that she writes fast paced action, adventure, and fantasy.

And the fact they are clean romance is such a benefit. The imagination of Winters is so outstanding, her ability to describe a scene, the energy she pours into her stories, you'll be on the edge of your seat.

When to read? So these books take place AFTER the Melderblood Chronicles, which takes place after The Blood and Flame sage. I highly recommend reading those first... But it's not necessary. However, you are introduced to Grigg (by another name) in Melderblood Chronicles, and I think it's good to see his personality in those books to really fall in love and understand him in these books. But again, not necessary.

I don't always read clean romance, but it's what I like to promote... Because there's enough promoting the spice/smut.
After getting suckered into the social media adds for a book that was beyond spicy and just weird and icky-My brain still has to know what happens with the story line and plots no matter how many pages I skip- I really wanted something engaging, humorous, swoony, and CLEAN!!!

I looked and looked and then decided.... Jenny Proctor would be a good choice, and let me tell you.... THE HAWTHORNES did not disappoint!

I'm originally from an area that has a town where people come for apples and apple picking. So that was nostalgic.

How to Kiss Your Best Friend- Proctor is a master at writing about this long secret love of someone without making them seem like a smuck. Brody is (my favorite word) endearing, he's Strong, capable, smart, and kind. Kate is a wanderer, and she's come home to tend to her grandmother's house... Perhaps she'll find herself in the one place she has been avoiding all these years. This was very much a slow burn.

How To Kiss Your Grumpy Boss- I loved Perry! Lila was great! And let me say ... Jack actually sounded like a 5 year old little boy and not someone who is capable of writing a college dissertation. That drives me nuts in books. It was a fantastic single mom love story, and very realistic but full of the swoon.

How To Kiss Your Enemy - the depth of these two characters was delicious! And I appreciated that while they were enemies, and there was banter and animosity, it wasn't vicious. It came from a competitiveness and misunderstanding of the other person. Lennox was a great hero lead.

How to Kiss a Move Star- Flint! Ahh! Loved Flint! Audrey was great, I loved how she came into herself! They found the best in each other.

The Hawthornes in general!!! You'll love the family. There is another book, but I haven't read it, about their younger sister that comes before this series.
