Managing and restoring coastal blue carbon ecosystems can significantly combat climate change and promote biodiversity. However, securing capital investments for these projects is a major challenge.

To effectively address this, we need to understand the barriers preventing financial scaling and private sector involvement in blue carbon projects.

This understanding will help us develop the right financing sources and structures to bridge the gap.

Drawing from my experience, identifying and addressing these challenges is crucial for unlocking the full potential of blue carbon projects.

𝐁𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 - It's time to embrace digital transformation for meaningful climate action. While other industries have already harnessed the power of connectivity, automation, and data analytics, the climate sector remains largely analog and outdated in terms of data usage.

We cannot afford to rely on conventional methods to tackle the biggest threat to humanity - climate change.

Blockchain technology is one of the emerging technologies that can help address urgent environmental issues such as biodiversity loss, energy grid deficiencies, and disaster displacement.

How?
➡️ by democratizing ownership,
➡️ improving transparency and integrity,
➡️ providing real-time visibility into the effectiveness of emissions reduction and
➡️ providing real-time visibility into sequestration efforts,

technology can help coordinate global efforts to address climate change.

However, the adoption + implementation of blockchain technology will require:
🌎 thoughtful coordination,
🌎 meaningful action across society and industry,
🌎 education, and
🌎 balanced regulation.

and should be looking into this space as it offers significant opportunities for a planet-positive economy focused on financing regeneration and climate action at scale.

Let's work together to accelerate the adoption of blockchain technology and other emerging technologies to address climate change.

The future of our planet is in our hands, and we must act now.

How to Use Coral Reefs As Defence Mechanisms Against Flooding?

Recent advancements in research have closed the knowledge and engineering gaps in designing reef restoration projects for hazard mitigation.

Today we can use precise 𝗽𝗵𝘆𝘀𝗶𝗰𝘀-𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗵𝘆𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘆𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗴𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 in order to maximize restoration efforts using height, width, and relative location of a restoration project to evaluate the coastal hazard risk reduction.

The key parameters to consider are :
1️⃣ the reef profile shape,
2️⃣ the location of the restoration on the profile,
3️⃣ the dimensions of the restoration, and
4️⃣ the hydrodynamic forcing conditions.
