We would like to take this time to congratulate Kim Buit on her new adventures. This past Saturday was Kim's last shift with us as a full-time employee. Kim recently finished nursing school and has moved on to peruse her nursing career. Kim had been with us since 2001, starting out as an EMT then going on to become an EMT-I and then becoming a Paramedic. Kim not only touched the hearts of all of her fellow coworkers but countless many others in our community. Kim always provided excellent patient care and her skills will be greatly missed. We wish her the best and will always be here if you need us. Thank you, Kimmi for everything you have done over the years. We love you.!!!!!!!!!!
Sincerely,
Your EMS Family😘

We want to recognize the service and sacrifice that all EMS providers make 24/7 serving our communities. All the hours spent away from family, missing important life events and answering the call for those in their time of need. We appreciate you. We see you. Thank you for what you do. If you see your local EMS professionals out this week, take a moment to say thank you. Not everyone can do this career path and it takes a special heart to rise up to the challenge.

This week is Dispatcher Appreciation Week. Emergency (911) dispatchers are the first people you talk to when you call with an emergency. Even though dispatchers can't see what’s happening, they are the eyes and ears of emergency responders—our angels who ensure that the right responders get to an emergency as fast as possible, and who keep responders safe as they help people in emergencies. Our FOUNTAIN/WARREN Co dispatchers deserve special praise as they are the voice for five fire departments, an ambulance agency, along with the police department. As you may imagine there are days where it is extremely busy and regardless of the situation our dispatchers provide the responders with prompt, and accurate information. Thank you for all that you do!

...EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 2 PM THURSDAY TO 8 PMEDT SUNDAY
The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued an Excessive Heat Warning, which is in effect from 2 PM Thursday to 8 PM EDT Sunday. The Excessive Heat Watch is no longer in effect.
* TEMPERATURE...Highs in the mid to upper 90s daily, with heat index reaching 105 to 110. The hottest conditions are expected Friday and Saturday.
* IMPACTS...Several days of heat indices of at least 105 degrees could have a cumulative impact on some individuals, especially those who spend a prolonged amount of time outdoors. The most
susceptible are the very young, the elderly, and those without air conditioning, and anyone conducting strenuous outdoor activities.
Also, car interiors can reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes. Never leave pets, children or the elderly unattended in parked vehicles. The extended period of high heat and humidity will worsen the effects of heat stress.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
Take extra precautions, if you work or spend time outside. When possible, reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when possible and drink plenty of water.
To reduce risk during outdoor work, the occupational safety and health administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat
stroke is an emergency, call 9 1 1.
An Excessive Heat Warning means that a prolonged period of dangerously hot temperatures will occur. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity will combine to create a DANGEROUS
SITUATION in which heat illnesses are likely. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances. This is especially true during warm or hot weather when car interiors can reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.
Happy 4th of July, we will be closed today so our employees can spend the day with their families. 😂 just kidding. Everyone have a safe and fun holiday
