The energy at today’s No Kings Rally in Bloomington was undeniable! Power belongs to the people, not to those who think they are above the law. Every voice matters, and we aren’t backing down. We’re standing firm for the rule of law and the future of our state and country.

Session is over. The work is not.
What I carry with me from this session is simple: Hoosiers are still trying to make the math work at the kitchen table, still raising kids, still building businesses, and still wanting more room to live their lives without politicians micromanaging them.
We made progress in some key areas, and I’m proud of the work that centered affordability, health care, families, farmers and communities too often treated like an afterthought.
I’m also grateful to Senators Ford and Hunley for their service as they retire from the Senate, and I wish them well in what comes next.
But let’s be clear: the job is not finished. I’ll keep fighting for an Indiana where fairness is real, opportunity is not zip-code dependent, military families do not have to beg for dignity, and our water, land, cities, towns, and small communities are protected and valued.
Sine die may have closed the session. It did not close the need.

Today we celebrate the women who lead, organize, and lift our communities every day.
On International Women’s Day, we recognize the women who show up, speak out, and fight for a better future for all Hoosiers.
Women who lead in our neighborhoods.
Women who advocate at the Statehouse.
Women who raise their voices for their families and communities.
Our state is stronger because of you. Thank you to the women across Indiana who continue to lead with courage, compassion, and determination.

Please join us for a special evening of film, dialogue, and community on Friday, March 7. This event will feature a screening of “Zurawski v. Texas” at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater —a powerful documentary that highlights the devastating impact of abortion bans and the urgent need to restore reproductive rights. IU Alumna Amanda Zurawski will be in attendance and will be hosting an exclusive Q&A after the show. Tickets and more info at .
I’m so honored to have been elected as the Senate Democrats’ Minority Caucus Leader on Wednesday. It truly would not have been possible without all of you. I promise to lead with courage, compassion, and in service of all Hoosiers. For more session updates, follow my official page (State Senator Shelli Yoder). Let’s get to work.

The Indiana Senate Democratic Caucus announces the leadership team for the upcoming 124th General Assembly.
As your state senator, I have always strived to lead with transparency, accountability and integrity, even in the face of difficult and deeply challenging situations. My decision not to seek another term as Assistant Minority Leader reflects my unwavering commitment to these principles. The serious allegations involving my colleague Senator Taylor demanded accountability and action. While the outcome was not what I had hoped for, I did everything in my power to stand up for what is right and to ensure these issues were addressed—not for personal gain or political positioning, but because it was the right thing to do.
I stand with the courageous women who came forward to share their experiences, and I am deeply sorry they had to endure such difficult circumstances. Their bravery has been a powerful call to action—a call I took to heart and fought to answer. Leadership must reflect the values of safety, justice and dignity.
Serving Monroe County in the Senate remains my greatest honor, and I am more committed than ever to fighting for the values we all deserve. Together, we must demand better, and together, we will continue the work of creating a government that upholds justice and respects the dignity of all Hoosiers.
Dear Friends,
Today we honor and remember the courage, sacrifice, and dedication of those who have served to protect our nation. Thank you to Papa John, Uncle Matt, Thomas Horrocks, Destiny Wells, and all veterans for your commitment to preserving our freedom and security.
Regarding last week's election, I know emotions are still raw, and we all need a break. But I can't let this moment pass without saying thank you. Your support, energy, and commitment are everything to me. Together, we have built something meaningful and powerful. I am honored to be in this with you and humbled to have the opportunity to serve another term in the Indiana Senate.
Thank you for believing in our shared vision for a better future. The work ahead will not be easy, but it is essential. Together, we are strong, and together, we will never stop striving for the future Hoosier families and communities deserve.
As a mom, my instinct is to tell you "everything is going to be okay." But I know for many, this isn't a certainty. It's a sentiment that reflects privilege, and not everyone has that comfort.
What I can say with confidence is this: We are at a crossroads where we can either retreat or recharge. I choose to recharge, and I will continue to listen, lead, and work harder than ever as we move forward together.
With the holidays on the horizon, please take care of yourself. Take care of others. Rest when you need, and prepare for the work that lies ahead. One thing we know is that change is inevitable. I promise you I'll continue to work like hell, inside and outside of the Statehouse, to make sure it's for the better.
Onward, with gratitude and resilience,
Shelli

‼️It’s Election Day! Today I started off early at University Elementary, and I’ll be making my way to several other polling places over the next few hours to greet our amazing Monroe County voters. Please follow along!
It’s a gorgeous day to get out and vote—hope I see you out there (be sure to come say hi!). Let’s do this!

Election Day is tomorrow! Find your polling place (and other info) at https://indianavoters.in.gov and go vote anytime between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.! Remember to bring photo ID with you (driver’s license, US Passport, and a student ID from a state school all suffice).
If you’re a new voter or just changed your address, I’d advise you to bring proof of residency just in case—a utility bill, government check, or bank statement directed to your registered address will work. And remember, if you’re in line to vote before 6 p.m., stay in line!
Get out there and make your voices heard, Hoosiers—I’ll see you at the polls.
