During the summit, we joined families, educators, students, and community leaders committed to strengthening civic engagement, preparing the next generation of leaders and building a stronger Harris County.

This skilled mechanic will diagnose and repair everything from light-duty vehicles to heavy-duty and emergency units, working closely with fleet management, equipment operators, and vendors to minimize downtime and extend the life of county assets.

The ideal candidate brings 7 years of relevant experience, a valid Texas Commercial Driver's License, and strong technical know-how across gasoline, diesel, and alternative-fuel vehicles.

🚨 JOB ALERT: Our office is searching for a skilled HVAC Technician to keep Precinct One facilities running safely and efficiently. This hands-on role installs, maintains, and repairs HVAC systems while working closely with contractors, electricians, and pipe-fitters on installations and repairs across the precinct.

The ideal candidate brings 3+ years of HVAC experience, TDLR certification, and EPA 608 certification, along with strong troubleshooting skills and a sharp eye for safety and building code compliance.

The Office of Commissioner Rodney Ellis' Development & Infrastructure Division and interns from the Harris County Leadership Internship Program (HCLIP) joined the Houston Zoo Sustainability & Resilience Tour to explore innovative approaches to conservation and resilient infrastructure.

Participants learned how sustainability principles are put into practice through bird-friendly design, rainwater collection systems, low-impact development strategies, and projects supported through the Harris County Office of Sustainability's Department of Energy grant. Experiences like these help connect classroom learning with real-world solutions that strengthen our communities.
