January is School Board Appreciation Month in Arkansas! Nika Waitsman, Fayetteville School Board Zone 1 currently serves as our FPS School Board President and has served on the school board since 2015. Thank you, Nika, for all you do!


All FPS Schools will be closed today, Friday, January 5, due to winter weather and road conditions.

Several individuals were recognized at the December meeting of the Fayetteville Board of Education this evening.


We were happy to host the Leadership Fayetteville Class 37 of the Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce this morning at John L Colbert Middle School as part of their Education Day session. We greatly appreciate this group of community leaders spending part of their day with us!

Jacob Welcher, Sydney Green, and Justin Tate have been selected to represent Arkansas at the Special Olympics Capitol Hill Day in February 2024. Jacob, Sydney, and Justin will have an opportunity to talk with members of the U.S. Congress about the impact Special Olympics has had on their lives. We know you'll represent us very, very well!!


Congrats to McNair Middle School 6th grade student Veta Alferova for winning the Lions Club district poster contest! She will next compete in the state contest.


FHS students Jacob Welcher, Lindsey Robbins, Blake Booth, and Sydney Green represented FHS at the Special Olympics Arkansas state unified state bowling tournament on December 6. They placed 5th in their division!

Fayetteville High School broadcast and film teachers Mr. John Gossett and Mr. Michad Holliday, along with FHS students, welcomed 4th graders from Leverett Elementary School to the FHSTV studios for a behind the scenes look at film and broadcast production.

All proceeds will go to the Families in Transition program which aids FPS students and their families in need. Thanks!


Ramay’s annual partnership with Northwest Arkansas Trout Unlimited 514 and Arkansas Game and Fish began this week.🎣125 trout eggs were delivered to Mr. Keen’s science classroom,and scholars will be hatching the eggs to raise and release them in Beaver Lake tailwaters.🐟What a cool way to see science in action!❤️🖤🤍
