Hi everyone!
Today, I want to share a bit of my story and I hope you enjoy it.

My name is David, founder & owner of DK Billiards since 33 years ago. I was 20, unemployed, and still living at home. My dad gave me an ultimatum – be gainfully employed by the following week or move out and end up with no pool table. I went to Mark’s dad, Dick Johnson, owner of Golden West Billiards in Orange, CA, and talked him into letting me work at the shop. I kept my pool table and started with tasks like cleaning the shop, polishing balls, and repairing cues. I soon started helping co-worker John Campbell on deliveries and repair jobs, soaking up his 25-year experience. I started to see an excellent opportunity for my own business.

In 1992, using the knowledge I gained from John Campbell and Mark Johnson, I started out on my own. I had a set of not yet paid-for tools in the back of my Peugeot 504 and one roll of green billiard cloth. After applying for my business license in 1993, I did billiard service and sold used pool tables until 1998 when John Campbell and I opened my first billiard store.

I am passionate about my work and pool tables, that’ s why many people call me “ The Guru “ . The part I enjoy most about my job is guiding my customers to have the tables of their dreams and as for the process of setting up a pool table I enjoy the waxing.

We do services such as refelting, cushion rubber replacement, releveling and pocket replacement. We also sell new and used pool tables which you can review on our website. Additionally, we offer storage of your pool table.

Next on the recushion list is this 8 foot Artisan with uni-rails. A little tough to work on these rails because they were built not to be disassembled. Luckily, I was able to remove the blind aprons. Once the new rubber is installed at the shop, we'll go back and install the new Proline worsted wool in Burgundy.

Rob & I flew out of Rome into Schiphol for our flight to LAX tomorrow morning! We flew over the alps and now we're enjoying some Tripel Karmeliet at the hotel bar.
